If it helps in Scotland they would say bawbag. In fact we have some quite incentive insults.

I was only 3, and believed it was chicken. Years later dad explained food was in such short supply we ate what we could. Mum became fruit and vegetables only. We lived in an African war zone and getting supplies was hard.

Terrifying that he is ignoring laws, legal judgement, basic human decency and aligning with what have been enemies of the USA for a very long time.

I remember visiting the orphanage when I lived in Kenya. It was a wonderful place. I wanted to stay. Warmed my heart then as it does now knowing they are cared for

I agree human snakes are bad.

Curious about this. Snakes are eaten in Africa, and the far east. Probably other places too.
Either way someone competent, fierce, diplomatic, with an IQ over 100, not a liar and actually prepared to work for the good of the country would be a great start.

Probably stupid enough to think you can drink sea water

Valid point if both cousins parents come from the same gene pool.

At least they didn't marry brothers and sisters or parents/children like the pharaohs

Just point out what happened to Egypt's pharaohs. King Tutenkamen (sp) being one example of why not to buy into such a crazy scheme.

Doesn't feel like it here as weather has been warmer than usual. It's always Saturday or Sunday on our house. The advantage of being retired.

I might reflect on the year and think of things I could do better. I don't feel shame if I can't achieve my hopes.

Same. A good example of how an originally pagan custom has developed into a modern celebration is New Years’ Day.
The earliest records of a New Year celebration are from Mesopotamia around 2000 BC.

We felt blessed to be friends with them. One day one child wasn't there. They had died. Most of us were in tears at the loss of such a special person. I have never used the r word and doubt anyone I grew up with did either. I am disgusted that word is still used. It shows ignorance.

I grew up in Kenya and went to the Kenya Secondary school in Mombasa. There was a school within a school. The children who had severe disabilities went there as they had the equipment needed as well as a safe place away from rambunctious kids. We all saw these kids as special in a good way.

I was bored from the first day of school. I never let on I could read. I had worked out, can't read so no homework. I pulled that off for two years. They never worked out how I could do maths. So moral to my story is never assume a child is unteachable.
I was caught reading a library book lol.

I grew up in Africa and Ellie's have always been my favourite animal. I spent my time in Ghana and Kenya. Whenever I was able I could be found talking to wild animals. The only time I got close to an elephant was at the elephant orphanage near Nairobi. It was a privilege to see them so close.

Most don't understand it's a calling and a way of life. To most it brings no riches.

I am neither rich, nor a farmer. My great uncle was a shepherd. His job came with housing in the back of beyond, down muddy roads. He got up at very early o'clock, often in the bitter cold to walk up hard to reach land with his dogs and tend sheep. Day in day out, lambing season, bringing feed.

If 20% of a farms value ( which includes machinery) has to be surrendered to tax on death, what do you think will happen to the land sold off? Unlikely to be farmed again. This is basically the law of diminishing returns.
The expensive machines are needed to farm as few want to do manual work.
comment in response to

People can be sheep and believe the idiots they listen to. You think of farms as landed gentry with vast wealth.
The land only has a value if sold. Farmers utilise the land by growing crops or raising animals. Many work many more hours than the average workers, often for smaller pay than most.

Shocking that the whistle blower was sacked. Seems likely that he did what he had to on order to ensure action. Sounds like that school and others need on investigation.

Hector here. I am in such shock I got up at 5am. My human got up first and started to get dressed. I freaked out. She is muttering about hells fire. She gave me breakfast at early o'clock. Then she left back door wide open. I worried Hectors get eaten too.

Machine on, when this long nose appeared accompanied by a long body. Someone wanted out, played with and fed. So I did this. He then felt the need to get in his day bed to sleep 💤

I only have respect for those people who stand on the front lines, support or other places to maintain our way of life.
I find it horrific that anyone is stupid enough to remove well qualified, trained and hardworking people because of bigotry.
Why put your country at more risk?
