Could the U.S. invade Iran and occupy them if they *REALLY* wanted to? Sure. Maybe. But it’d take much more than Iraq and Afghanistan. Tens of thousands of American troops would die. It’d kinda go against America’s military doctrine where we try not to recreate Vietnam.

Well… the U.S. had a pretty large ground presence in Iraq. I don’t think they’re going to deploy forces to Iran in an actual ground war. Iran has a more sophisticated military compared to Iraq and the country is huge.

yeah, I mean, I don't see how the U.S. could end up occupying Iran, but totally, it's dangerous for the entire region. It's awful for Iranians and it's even awful for Israeli civilians. And for people in Gaza. It's just escalates everything.

Needless to say, now my bank account is looking VERY good.
Shit is higher than it was before I bought my house and gutted it on a down payment.
There was a period last August where I had $11 in my checking account.
I now have FOURTEEN mortgage payments saved up in there lmao

haha Ulis and Derrick Jones Jr were part of #TheTimeline too.
I don't think we included Len as part of it because we assumed he was going to leave Phoenix, but it's pretty ironic that he probably had the best career out of all of them.
comment in response to

yeah lol Was a very funny time. Ironically, #TheTimeline all sucked, besides Devin Booker, and them reaching the NBA Finals had nothing at all to do with any of those players lol
That was pre-Ayton, Mikal, and Cam Johnson.

I was a guest at one point, like… for the 17th episode or whatever. We talked about it a little bit. And also talked about how the Suns had just blocked me on Twitter like days prior haha

I was the one who came up with the entire "Timeline" thing on twitter years ago lol Started when the Suns were rumored to be interested in signing Blake Griffin, who ultimately went to the Pistons. Was like viral Suns-Twitter thing. That's how the podcast got its name.

This war will very likely not turn into a ground war and there’s only so much you can do from the air. But when it comes to air superiority, of course Israel has the edge. They’re freely flying INSIDE of Iran. Iran is not flying inside of Israel, or even inside of Iran.

I personally doubt Israel will be successful at their overall objective. Iran very well might have minimal long term impacts from this.
That doesn’t mean that so far Israel hasn’t inflicted far more damage to Iran’s military capabilities. Because they have in the short term.
comment in response to

War isn’t ever “one side is annihilating the other”. You can still say that Israel has inflicted more meaningful damage over the last week without saying Israel will be successful with their objective.
The U.S. inflicted a lot of suffering on Afghanistan and still lost the war.

When did I say the situation in Israel was good? They’ve had like 40 missiles hit them, hundreds of civilians have been injured, thousands have psychological trauma, and they too have a finite number of air defense missiles and it seems like based on recent launches, they’ve become less reliable.
comment in response to
post
They both have a finite number of missiles!
comment in response to
post
They’ve used/lost at least 500 missiles since the conflict began. That’s assuming they haven’t even lost much, so the number they’ve depleted is probably higher.
That isn’t even me arguing that Iran’s current inventory might last longer than Israel’s air defense inventory! It might!
comment in response to
post
Yes, many of their missiles are assembled AND stored underground. But we’re also seeing ample evidence that their launch capabilities are being impacted. Their recent volleys of missile launches are decreasing and have been since Saturday.
comment in response to
post
How many medium range ballistic missiles do you think Iran has? lol because they don’t have an infinite amount. No one knows the exact number but they likely had ~2,000 or so before this conflict started. We’ve literally seen video of some of them targeted before they were launched.
comment in response to
post
What are you even talking about lol if you want to argue that Iran has taken less damage and casualties than Israel in this conflict, then God bless you.
comment in response to
post
Okay I actually meant I’m the reason for the entire name of the podcast, but not the episode lol
comment in response to
post
Because before this started, Israel had less air defense missiles than Iran had medium range missiles. If Israel runs out, they’ll be in a lot of trouble. But they’ve also degraded Iran’s launch capabilities. Why? Because they gained air superiority over much of Iran.
comment in response to
post
What’s going to matter most is, what happens if Israel runs out of air defense missiles before Iran runs out of missiles (and launchers). That’s an actual issue for Israel. When that happens, sure, the situation might shift quite a bit.

Huh? That article you sent me has like… 2 other articles about it. One of which is from a Palestinian news source that explicitly says “near” his home.
Israel has had plenty of airstrikes against them. Iran has also had substantially more against them. That’s just a fact.
comment in response to

That article says “near” his home. Read it.
The difference between you and me is, I cannot like Israel and also read.

Yes, blown out windows. That happens when a building next to it gets hit by a missile. Jesus Christ, Israel is awful but you’re too brain dead to comprehend basic facts lol
Again, this isn’t sports!

IDF headquarters were nearly hit but… they were not directly hit. A building next door was. There’s like… photos and videos of this online lol

Vast majority being… very likely about 90%.
What are you even talking about? They killed the Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, Commander-in-Chief of the Guard Corps, and the commanders of the KCHQ and IRGCASF.
comment in response to

They also very clearly have a network inside of Iran, which isn’t new. They’ve launched covert attacks by personnel on the ground in Iran.
I mean, these are all just basic facts. It has nothing to do with who is right or wrong.
comment in response to
post
Well… they have successfully shot down the vast majority of missiles. They have total air superiority over much of Iran. They’re not just launching those missiles from jets at the Iraqi border. They’re actually flying inside of Iran. They’ve also taken out top military leaders.
comment in response to

Like… Nazis are bad. They still successfully did things during war lol I can recognize that without supporting Nazis.

You don’t need to treat war like it involves your favorite sports team.

Not sure if you know what “both sidesing” really is. You do realize that if you see a missile by Iran get shot down and you say “oh hey it looks like that missile got shot down”, that isn’t both sidesing or showing support for anything!
comment in response to
post
I’m not a supporter of Israel lol I think they’re downright evil. I’m also able to watch what is happening and not have my feelings about Israel or Iran warp it.
Israel has *mostly* been successful at shooting down missiles. That can be true WHILE I can also think Israel is evil.
