At first I thought it was fake news because in 2023 I decided to redesign WW in a more greco-roman outfit and did a lot of research on armors and weapons.
This sword resembles the ones from Troy, so I felt like it was a prop from the movie, haha.
That aside, it looks fantastic and detailed.

I would like nothing more than to see Ghibli sue their asses, but considering the japanese government wants to make A.I training on copyrighted data legal, it becomes a complicated issue.

Exactly. These tech grifters take everything and leave nothing.
They're sub-human as far as I'm concerned.

Did you also storyboard the opening of X2?
It's one of the most memorable ones from a superhero movie and I can imagine it was hard to put together, even in that early stage.

You can start by not calling it art, because A.I images are not art.
The two are diametrically opposed. You cannot call something that's pooped out in seconds art when there's no thought process, no emotions, no craftsmanship going on.
It's simply slop. That's all it is and all it will ever be.

I just can't believe this is the reality we're living in and will continue to get worse with each passing year.
We have the manpower to fight the oligarchy and late stage capitalism, but we're so caught up in culture wars and empty entertainment that we don't have the drive to start a revolution.

This is sorcery! Do you always start in grayscale and then glaze colors on top?
It definitely feels like a foolproof method, since you're making sure the values are on point and then the colors will do just fine once added.

I remember when I was a kid and would search the bandwidth for new channels and found HBO in b&w with a lot of static because we couldn't afford the subscription and the signal was weak, but it didn't matter to me.
I watched Spawn like that with no sound and was still impressed.

I rewatched Hollow Man during Halloween season after many, many years and was pleasantly surprised.
It's trashy, but has big balls at the same time and the VFX still are great to this day.
I think it needed a little more time with the character in his descent to madness, but overall good stuff.

Is that a newer version of Photoshop or am I mistaken? I'm asking because I'm still using CS6 and the interface looks a lot different.

I always thought you painted with oils when I looked at your art, but when I had to deal with a huge painting on a canvas that I was going to do with acrylics I started to do due diligence and was shocked when I saw that you paint with acrylics.
Now it's another shock seeing you don't use mediums.

Absolutely brilliant cover, Marc!

Man, that's so smooth and the mouth is in sync with the voice acting.
Is this from Scoob or another animated film?

I'm also never working on that size again, since it's a pain to move it around in an apartment and I also had to use my airbrush quite a bit, so you can imagine how chaotic it was.
I hated the texture of the canvas too and it would have been better if I had gesso to add a few more coats on top.

It was a nightmare to work on canvas because acrylic dries so quickly and I learned that some manufacturers put more glue than calcium carbonate in their gesso, which makes the canvas have a slippery texture and affect the adherence of paint and that happened to me.

I appreciate the details. I've been looking into painting on HDF boards after doing a huge acrylic painting (47"x47") on canvas recently and it was my first time with canvas, which I've learned that I hate, and would like to change to a solid and smooth surface whenever I do traditional paintings.

Gorgeous, as always! What kind of wood panel is that, Annie?
Masonite? HDF? MDF?

Don't get me wrong, I love 2049 to death, but it's not on the level of the original, which is probably one of the most copied films from a visual pov. Probably the most copied in scifi, but never surpassed.
That level of craftsmanship and texture will never be seen again.

A few days ago, when Tom Burke said the 2099 show is more like the OG than 2049 from an aesthetic pov, people went nuts on reddit saying that the sequel is superior visually.
That's when I knew media literacy is on its last legs.

Escape from New York for me. Escape from L.A, while having a more badass ending, was made for $10 and a pack of gum, so it affects my viewing experience when the visual downgrade is so big between them.

Oh, I'm not blaming the voice actors just as I wouldn't blame the concept artists for bad designs in movies.
It ultimately boils down to the directors who give the final say, so they're responsible for how it ends up sounding/looking.

I saw Red Rocket, Florida Project and Anora.
The only one I didn't really like was Florida Project because it was so meandering.
Sean Baker is a cool guy and manages to get natural performances from his cast, but he's not exactly a strong writer and it shows a lot of times.

I watched Fextralife's review during the day and he said the japanese version is the best voice acting in the AC games he's played.
Best to not go into the english version at all, since I read that it's really cringe.

Neon paid 16 mil for Mikey Madison's Oscar campaign, as opposed to the film's 6 mil budget.
Also, yeah, Sean Baker's films have a lot of improv in them.
That being said, I wouldn't take awards as a mark of quality nowadays. They're just giving them out to what's trendy.

If you ever want to watch more Lupin, I can give you some recommendations from what I've seen.
Btw, the manga it's based on was more mature and Lupin was kind of an asshole compared to the Cagliostro version.

That's so cool! Coincidence has it that I just started posting art here last week and kicked things off with Lupin fan art I did back when I was watching everything that came out with him.
I need to catch up, since I haven't seen anything they released in the last couple of years.

Yeah, I do the same. Paint the artwork in Clip and do the final color corrections in PS.
