I know that need to grab the opportunity while the urge is upon me. It's a pain, but also really useful. Did I get done the one thing I'd planned for yesterday? No. But I do have a whole slew of jobs done round my home, some of which have been waiting for close to a year. I'll take that as a win.

Today, I have houseworked! One load of laundry is currently on the airer to dry, my little dishwasher is cleaning my dishes and (drumroll) I vacuumed a whole room. I also emptied the kitchen bin & cleaned the vacuum filter. I can, if I so wish, take the rest of the weekend off! ๐

I love the void kitty as well, but that quilt is just gorgeous! ๐ My sewing skills aren't up to it, I'm a yarn crafts person, but I can appreciate the skill and time that went into this. ๐งต๐งถ

I'd just lie to them. Once I've got the cat home, how are they going to know whether I let it out or not?

Yes she's also really good. Her videos include enough repetition that you don't have to worry about missing what she's doing. I'm on facebook for crochet/knitting & cooking pages & she's one of the ones I follow (although I feel I should mention her accent's from England).

If you're comfortable learning from video, try Bella Coco. I learnt from a person sitting there & showing me, but loads of people swear by her. She has a website & a youtube channel.

That was very good. Recommended viewing. And when I referred to it as a lane, above, it's more of an alley. ๐ฝ

For anyone else reading this (I'm pretty sure Kiki already knows) the Braun thermoscan is the one we use in healthcare - so you can be sure it's giving accurate readings. Just be aware you need to get a box of the covers for the probe, it won't work without one.

The largest (Blakiston's fish owl) and the smallest (elf owl). Both are #SuperbOwl ๐ฆ๐๐งช

Is it bad that I automatically read this as about the current happenings in US politics? (For context: I'm not just in another country, I'm on a different continent)

My little cinema's showing Brief Encounter as its Valentine's movie. Now I love it, & the chance to see it on the big screen is not to be missed, so I'm going. But a doomed love affair is an odd choice.
(The night before is Thelma & Louise - which makes sense for Galentine's day.)

Are they speaking to an aristocratic English woman whose correct style is 'My Lady'? If not, & it's not in the other contexts mentioned in this thread' then those guys are creepy weirdos I wouldn't want to be alone with.

Except it's not. It's used when speaking to a female member of the aristocracy whose correct form of address is 'My Lady'. We don't have an equivalent of the US 'ma'am' or 'sir' when addressing people because that's not a thing here.

And yet I read it as 'continue'. Didn't notice the scramble until I clicked through for the rest of the thread. Brains are amazing.
