I asked my students who have been studying Arthurian adaptations today to come up with an idea for their own contemporary retelling of the Matter of Britain. They came up with... a police procedural. Arthur is in charge, all of his knights are detectives and Merlin does forensics.

Anyone have any favorite short stories dealing with food/foodways?

Not that this is anywhere near the most important thing right now, but if we're going to have to pay major tariffs on good from Europe, I'm going to need for American bra manufacturers to learn to make decent bras for bigger cup sizes.

Anyone want to explain to the DOJ what typically results from killing a social bandit?

When you look at the list of institutions they want to defund: libraries, museums, the Smithsonian, public schools, PBS, NPR, archives, you can clearly see that the real threat to an authoritarian regime is an informed and educated public

I was trying to catch up on the last two groups of the Rhythm Dance when my kitten Cholula came over and pulled up Netflix instead. Not sure what she has against ice dance. #WorldFigure

I'm sure Isabeau and Amber are disappointed, but for the US women to finish 1, 4, and 5 is amazing! They should be proud. #WorldFigure

Also... we all needed this. Now we get all the Alysa interviews with the delightfully unfiltered answers. "What the hell?" LOL #WorldFigure

That hug from Kaori to Alysa... so beautiful! Two such positive personalities. Love them both. #WorldFigure

I really like Yoshida/Morita's costumes. Appropriate for the program and also flattering. Matching her petticoat to his jacket is a good way to make them look like a pair without being too matchy-matchy.

Really enjoying KMT as a commentator, especially for pairs. I've learned a lot from listening to her. Her love of the sport is so evident and delightful. #WorldFigure

I had a dream a few nights ago that I was on a faculty search committee at Hogwarts. For the most part, the process was similar to other faculty search committees I've been on. (Sorry, I don't remember much about the candidates or other committee members)

Okay, I was having a hard time following this finale, but placing the flowers at the center of the heart... I love that as an ending for this show. #LegacyOnIce

Wow. That "Ave Maria" I just don't have words. #LegacyOnIce

Max... #LegacyOnIce

Jimmy Ma doesn't get talked about as an expressive skater as much as he should. That was beautiful. #LegacyOnIce

That was a really powerful group number from Capital Theatre on Ice #LegacyOnIce

You can tell Sarah had tears in her eyes (as I think we all do). I can't imagine coping with tragedy on this scale at her age. #LegacyOnIce

Isabella Aparicio skating to her father's music to honor her father and brother. Wow. #LegacyOnIce

I made it three numbers into #LegacyOnIce before I started bawling. What beautiful tributes.

Today's reason I wish I was a cat: My kitten got spade Wednesday. By Thursday afternoon she was back to chasing toys around the living room. By last night she was back to wrestling with her much larger brothers no matter how much I urged her to take it easy. Wish I had that resiliency.

There's a strong connection between my present imposter syndrome and the Cs I got in penmanship in elementary school. It's not an exaggeration to say that I worked harder on my handwriting than any other subject throughout my years in elementary school. It never got better.

Plese repost & share widelye: open access, free, scholar-produced resource for studyinge & teachinge *The Canterburye Tales* at the university level: THE OPEN ACCESS COMPANION TO THE CANTERBURY TALES opencanterburytales.dsl.lsu.edu

I often think about how cool it would be if universities promoted their theatre/music productions to the degree that they promote their sports competitions.

I'll be the first to say disciplinary boundary keeping can do more harm than good. But if you're going to give a scholarly presentation on folklore, please at least look at some folklore scholarship.

Reading some Welsh folklore-y stuff, so I got my Pwca to help.

On a light note, here's three of my adorable cats! (Puca is hiding in good trickster fashion)
