The characterization comes from a conservative press that hates those protests because they’re led by a coalition of Jewish and Muslim adults and wants you to think it’s all just self-hating rich white kids who want their parents’ attention

In city after city, police are the single biggest budget item.
And I don’t mean like 2% when everything else is 1%. I mean like 40%.
Police take priority over drug treatment, psych care, housing, etc etc etc.
And now we are here.
