New music. Originally this was just going to be a short musical jingle for use on my channel. However, I really liked it so I extended it. You can listen for free. #UKCanals kryfoldsky.bandcamp.com/track/endles...

I'm glad now that I bought this little gas hob all those years ago. Had to disconnect my gas bottle to inspect and paint the floor of the gas locker. I last did it about 8 years ago and there wasn't any new rust there. It did need a refresh coat of paint though. (Very dusty kettle!)

New cruising video! youtu.be/v5N_E65evsY

Some days I feel like buying a tent and sleeping bag and just walking away from it all, or worse. This license and boat safety stuff is getting me down. It's even harder being alone. Had a phone call from CRT today. They were ok but the pressure is on... I feel sick.

Oh eck! This is the very back end of my cabin. Yes that is water under the rotten floor! It's probably just rainwater come in under the back door, and also general condensation or a leaky window? Probably not sinking yet but one day it will. That's why I'm reinstalling that bilge pump!

I didn't video this because I really had to concentrate. It could have gone horribly wrong. But it didn't, it was hard to cut the big hole, my drill got very hot. Then drill and tap threads for the fixing bolts. Very pleased with this. Now I've got to remove it and paint underneath...

At last solar power is getting strong enough to allow me to spend hours editing videos again - here's the latest cruising video. youtu.be/WomitjxoZ0w

Didn't do much today because it's started raining. But I did cut a 22mm hole for the tank vent fitting.

Good news! The shelf is installed and it fits! I'm not sure if it's level but it's the best I could do? I think it's strong enough, I could stand on it. Next job is to turn the boat around and use a hole saw to cut a hole in the gunwale for the deck filler fitting. That might be hard?

Well that's the shelf for the diesel tank completed. I'll see about fitting that tomorrow... Midge was not very impressed!

Cold and a bit rainy today but I'm trying to continue the work. Painting with very smelly rust treatment paint in a narrowboat is a challenge. Reduced to putting a chair in the shower tray and keeping the bathroom door shut. Drying will be slow.

Busy today making a strong shelf for my new diesel tank.

Bloody hell, I feel like I've been robbed! Coal boat not due for two weeks so I went to the local boatyard. £22 for a bag of coal! That's the most I have ever spent on one bag. Going to have to be very frugal with it. ☹️ (£16.50 from coal boat)

For the last couple of months, despite frequent moves, I've been moored within earshot of very noisy motorways and/or railways. Yesterday I moved to somewhere really quiet and it's such a strange feeling! I'm sure the cats love it too.

It's been a bit chilly on the cut! youtu.be/iduQKZcHnZQ

I moved my Lifepo4 batteries indoors because they don't like the cold. Very nearly finished...

The canal is frozen here this morning. Heavy frost again on cratch porthole glass.

He's gone to sleep and I want to move.

My fish and shrimps with low level backlight. Lots of activity going on this evening.

3/4 Some more #canon #photos of a #narrowboat on the #towpath today on #oxfordcanal what a headache to wake up to! Such a lovely gentleman too. #UKCanals #oxfordshire #floods #stormbert

I think Bushka cat likes the music?

New vlog! 🤣 youtu.be/KblAmzbQdxo

Storm Bert! #UKCanals

Swan in flight (AI).

I made a new shelf today. So despite the weather the day has not been entirely wasted, just mostly wasted! 🤣
