The bloody paint in my gas locker still isn't dry! Touch dry in places but not everywhere.

Work still to do on the boat before bss. Running out of time, licence expired already. Didn't have the money to do it sooner.

It's another Jules Fuels boat in the Midlands.

No but they did try when they were kittens.

There's no need for that now. Also batteries with heaters are twice as expensive.

Here's a video I made. The ledge is clearly visible on the left. youtu.be/asMx8hGFEMs?...

I've got a photo of those ledges somewhere, I took it when the lock was drained a while ago. I'll try to find it later? It would be an easy fix, the ledge needs a cement cap at 45⁰ so boats would slide off. They didn't bother with that though.

The gates leak very badly on that one. Also, when descending keep the boat away from the lock sides. There is a ledge below the water that the boat can get caught on as it lowers.

What happened next was really disgusting. He stood up, stretched, and squirted both anal glands all over me! Foul disgusting smelly stuff. 🤮🤣 Hopefully this was unintentional? Yuk. Fortunately not a common occurrence.

Mute the sound as Bluesky has messed that up!

That part of the towpath is usually unaffected when the river floods. Very rare for the towpath to flood there, maybe once every 20 years but I've never seen it deep enough to float a boat over it.

I'm pretty sure that if I was there at the time we could have prevented that from happening. Gangplank and boat poles etc stuck vertically between boat and bank should have kept it off the path. It's worked for me before.

The boat at the far end has sunk as well by the looks of it. ☹️

That's the worst I've ever seen it flood down there. They said it was waist deep on the towpath! He's also a friend of mine but unfortunately I'm too far away to be of help.

That's the puddle banks, approaching Braunston.

Cats are good swimmers, metal piling can make it hard or impossible for them to get out though. Even more dangerous in winter but generally they are fine.

No point in trying to use an umbrella either.

I wonder how many boaters are still on X? If they're not here already they probably will be fairly soon?

My pleasure, there's an ever increasing number of boaters flocking to this site. Lots of new faces.
