While the gospels say that Judas led the Romans to Jesus, a new theory is gaining traction with some Biblical scholars. There is evidence, some say, that Judas merely shared Christ's location on an insecure group chat that accidentally included several Roman officials and journalists.

Or cis women doing anything but the most routine tasks of family life.

🧪 Tip: You have the right to contest a grant termination, even though NSF says you don't. 🧵 On Friday, NSF terminated 402 grants (per Musk's DOGE). The notification letters had one of the most egregious violations of fed regulations I've seen so far in these cases: "not subject to appeal"

Please consider writing a comment on this proposed rule. It will affect potential legal challenges. The rule is an enormous threat to the federal economic statistical agencies and all other forms of civil service professionalism across every agency.

i couldn’t help but wonder, would i ever be added to a group signal chat with classified information?

We must dissolve the Supreme Court and give Donald Trump unlimited powers. Or else we will have a dictatorship.

i often see things that make me say "this is the most Boston thing I have ever seen in my life" but i think this one might have swept them all

Under the Trump administration’s theory of the law, the government could have banished this U.S. citizen to a Salvadoran prison then refused to do anything to bring him back. This is why the Constitution guarantees due process to all. Could it be more obvious? news.azpm.org/p/news-artic...

It’s not a departure—it’s an illegal misuse of government resources. This would have been headline grabbing fodder in any other administration—as well as an immediate resignation.

American colonists literally threw a revolution in part to prevent unjust penalties imposed by an overly punitive tyrant leader; 4 of 10 amendments in the US Bill of Rights are about rights afforded to people accused of crimes (5, 6, 7, & 8). Here we are again. www.washingtonpost.com/immigration/...

The next generation will absolutely not believe how good pre-AI Google was.

Interesting that we aren’t asking for any moral concessions from Saudi Arabia to engage in trade but are willing to tank entire deals for this

Just before the author Ryan Holiday was scheduled to deliver a lecture at the U.S. Naval Academy, he was asked not to mention the recent removal of 381 supposedly controversial books from the campus library. Holiday refused, and the talk was canceled. This is the story he was going to tell.

Staple this to RFK Jr’s forehead.

Meal prepping for kitchen renovation: chicken cutlets; jambalaya potatoes; taco meat; shawarma, BBQ, & mustard chicken; and many more meals, sides, and snacks that can go in a microwave or toaster oven.

Holy shit. 🤦‍♂️

NEW: The entire NIH payment system is currently frozen for all grantees. This is tied to DOGE’s new “Defend the Spend” caper, reported in today’s Post, which has already led to payment cutoffs to doctors and health workers at hospitals treating the poor.

Some news about RIFs within HHS's procurement staff. I oversaw HHS procurement policy as an assistant secretary for a year and know folks still there. Heavy sledding alert, but TLDR: Enormous cuts make contract bloat and fraud far likelier. 1/10

“Let the warning ride forth once more…”

And included “Occupy” among the suspect terms.

Ok so yeah, this has quickly become the #1 misunderstanding about the canceled grants the grants are not “subsidies” or “entitlements” to Harvard or Princeton or whatever they aren’t going into universities’ endowments they are competitive contracts won by these universities to do research

Brash post spawns deep dive into cross-border subsets of Mexican cuisine/history/geography, veers to BBQ burros and parking lot tamales, lassos two world experts on Mexican cuisine, and somehow ends with Mexican men's love of Morrissey and the Unifying Salad Theory™. Social media at its best.

it looks like "going to the store and being reasonably sure your food won't kill you" is soon to be a Before Times thing

“We need to add extra layers of review, for stuff that was already reviewed, by people who don’t understand the policy which will absolutely lead to delay” is not tech magic. It’s just the worst type of bureaucracy. That’s the stuff we have been trying to change!

This is indeed incredible. “Conservative judge” doesn’t quite cut it as a description of Wilkinson. He is one of the most deferential-to-government-power judges in the country. When he writes like Justice Sotomayor it’s signs-and-wonders level.

NEW FROM ME: There's a huge mess over letters telling people to "leave the United States" bc they're losing parole. Mistakes, panic, bad legal advice, "how did they get my email?" Totally coincidentally, DOGE's first job on immigration? Parole revocation. immigrationimpact.com/2025/04/17/t...

This administration is doing a whole lot of the last part of this old lawyer adage: “If you have the facts on your side, pound the facts; if you have the law on your side, pound the law; …. But if you have neither the facts nor the law, pound the table.”

What nondisabled people are missing is beyond the fact that this is ugly and false, it’s completely in line with the eugenicist playbook. Convince the public that “these people” live sad, unproductive lives, that we need to eradicate this “disease,” and then eventually, eradicate the people.

Marco Rubio says that Americans living in Europe shouldn't ever have to face any ramifications for their political speech online. The chutzpah is jaw-dropping, as he is PERSONALLY trying to deport legal immigrants for their political speech in the United States.
