Again, no better candidate on the ballot is not a choice for the duopoly

I think city people who don’t understand why rural people keep voting for the best candidate on the ballot should shut up, or tell their city centric parties to actually field a decent candidate rather than abandon us.

How ironic.

Or maybe, you are. The Israel/Palestine dispute has been, first and foremost, a war of propaganda. So much so that I was genuinely shocked when I went there in 2011/12 about how much I fundamentally did not understand the place or its politics. That collection of headlines looks like propaganda.

History always repeats itself. Worth remembering that Hitler used the work of American Eugenists as the basis for his ideology.

Climate action wasn’t on the ballot. And the Greens literally lost three quarters of their house seats, so maybe not so much.

Angie is great. Could you imagine the likes of Lyle Shelton if she was leader, and Tim Wilson deputy?

The technicality would be that no party has any seats- individuals are elected, not parties. But as you were.

No. They didn’t lose the seat they lost the member.

Which house seat have they lost at an election?

Not exactly an unbiased author. Given much of his tenure and demands were cleaning up robodebt, PWC scandal and the referendum, the not insignificant actions to improve the experience for sexual violence victims and improve access to legal support and systems in rural and remote areas are impressive

Absolutely agree that people worry about sounding stupid, but genuine disengagement is real. The utterly stupid ‘analysis’ of the election blaming disengaged voters is so wrong and dumb I want to vomit.

I used a fairly unscripted grounded theory approach as I find pushing on any part topic tends to generate false responses.

The analysis is bloody woeful everywhere. Missing the Dems a lot these days.

Maybe it’s a rural thing. I had a guy two weeks ago in a series of one on ones that literally didn’t give a toss about anything. About the only subject he was vaguely interested in was improving rubbish collection.

Come sit in a focus group sometime. There’s always one who literally has no opinions on anything.

Yeah nah, there are. But more importantly, there are shiteloads of disaffected voters who don’t feel like anyone cares about them and their lives, who are uninspired to vote for anyone.

Which helps me how if I can’t afford my medication, which was recommended by PBAC to be listed on the PBS 6 months ago, but I’m still paying $695 every 4 weeks?

You know I’m not Labor right? I like politicians with brains and heart, but that’s it. The way Migraine has been treated by @markbutlermp.bsky.social - absolutely no way. For starters, I can’t afford to not work two jobs to pay my medical bills.

Uh no.

That’s their usual weekly segment

Can I pretend I didn’t see that?

Dear lord. And I bet they get big fat government grants and ads too
