Imagine if residuals applied to gifs. Aimee Lou Wood would make a killing from #WhiteLotus alone. Nene Leakes would be swimming in Bezos-level wealth.

It may be naive, but I'm genuinely shocked by how quickly so many US institutions are folding without any fight.

I'm looking at Vancouver artist Angela Teng's crochet pieces, and was immediately reminded of your book project. I don't even want to read American Dirt but it has such distinct cover art in a similar vein. angelateng.com

The Met Gala is a charity event and fundraiser for The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute, traditionally timed to mark its annual fashion exhibition. If you'd like to learn more, @complex.com's Aria Hughes has a breakdown (starts at 20:35) and look into this year's theme. #metgala2025

While ICC rules cannot be implemented in the US, historic precedent indicates they could be in El Salvador (though exceptionally challenging under Bukele's authoritarian regime).

Under El Salvador's State of Exception, constitutional rights were suspended in 2022. Over 87,000 people (including minors) have since been arrested without due process - and remain held in detention centres with documented cases of torture and other human rights violations.

Great reporting, @abbyluciano.bsky.social. I'm floored by how Heather MacDonald far exceeded her original goal of 600 spin classes in one year - and loved seeing what goes into @guinnessworldrecords.com's verification process.

After following you here on Bluesky I’m guessing the latter…? 🤭😭

This is such relevant context - thank you both @tauriq.bsky.social.

That was eighteen years ago??!

Would ICC rules not apply in El Salvador? As a Canadian I'm trying to better understand how the international community can intervene - but from what I've read, we can't do so without breaking international law(s).

Ina Garten's memoir got me out of a reading slump too. I quite liked flipping between the book and audiobook (she narrates it herself and has the most wonderfully/comically dry delivery). Happy reading! #booksky

I recently finished Black Wave, and completely agree. Have you read Kim Ghattas' 2013 book The Secretary (about Hillary Clinton’s time as secretary of state)? I've added it to my to-read list and hope she has more books coming out.

Fingers crossed you make it to Vancouver! Love that your tour includes libraries.

Vancouver is voting for two city councillors in a rare by-election (only 17 by-elections have been held in the city's 138-year history). If you're an undecided Vancouver voter, there is an all-candidates meeting tonight: 6.30-8.00pm West End Community Centre 870 Denman #vanpoli #cdnpoli

I value local insights like this - especially as someone in a staunch Liberal riding who has never experienced such a close potential split (at least for a federal election).

It’s a great cozy mystery. You’ll still find Jesse Q. Sutanto’s signature breezy style and fun banter between characters - but they felt more developed imo.

Have you read Vera Wong's Unsolicited Advice for Murderers by Sutanto? I ended up liking that one far more than the Aunties series.

Forgot to add: West Vancouver Memorial Library is undergoing renovations right now but their space is warm and welcoming. It's a 25min walk from Ambleside Park (great dog beach) and super close to Savary Island Pie Company (pricey but worth it). #librarysky #westvancouver

Congratulations on your new book - it sounds incredible and deeply personal. We read The Last Neanderthal in my book club years ago, and it's long stayed with many of us. I can't wait to read this latest work.

I just finished this last night!
