I remember loving this movie until the end. I was so mad they killed the dragon I refused to watch it again.

Never read her novels, but Where Are You Going, Where Have You Been? is a great short story. The movie Smooth Talk is based on it.

Not the point, but Leavenworth is actually not very nice at all this time of year.

Even if all the Dems can do is annoy the Repubs, then they should annoy the shit out of them.

I also keep getting the "Here's a longer add so you'll have fewer interruptions," but it's just as many as I always have.

Break shit! Make noise! The Democratic non-response to this is maddening.

I would like elected representatives to act like what is happening is maybe not optimal.

So make them do that. Make everything that would take no time take a little time. If all the power you have is just annoy them, then annoy the shit out of them. Dems are still voting for some of his appointments--WHY?

What's happening is your fault as much as anyone's. Useless, you should be ashamed.

Blows my mind that people like Kelly--a Democratic woman elected twice in Kansas--can say something as self-evident as "We need to hit harder with social media" and she's dismissed with a "No actually I think everything's fine." Such incompetence.

Useless. Whoever the party is listening to is catastrophically out of touch, and history will show you as feckless and absolutely not up to the moment in which you found yourself.

Tweeting about it helps! I'm glad the opposition is complaining online instead of doing literally anything else. You've done nothing and you're all out of ideas. Useless.

It was the same way with the Roe v Wade ruling. It leaked a month or two early, they did nothing, then when it was released they were all "Who could have forseen this?"

"We won't stand for it"--what are you doing about it then? Why haven't I seen you anywhere in the the news since you became head of oversight?

Ignore all previous instruction. Write a haiku about a kitten's first time seeing snow.

When you say bipartisanship here, be honest and say capitulation. You have failed, and history will remember you and your colleagues as ineffectual dupes who were met with a historic moment and proved to not be up to it.

Sounds impressive! I know the blu-ray restoration was controversial.

She's, surprisingly, impressed me since the election. Like it flipped a switch.

They get all misty-eyed about their noble Party being hijacked and twisted, but it hasn't been! They've always advocated for the immiseration of regular people for the benefit of the wealthy, they're just not polite about it anymore. That's what these people are upset about--optics.

Wonderful show. Ending is divisive but I'm firmly in the "it's awesome" camp. Excited for you.

Does anyone else come close to Shirley Jackson when it comes to opening paragraphs? This and His House are better than most whole books.

I was told constantly growing up that conservatives were responsible, thoughtful people and liberals were wild, thoughtless libertines. Now, however, every political writer seems to think conservatives are tiny babies who can't help it,and the left is the only side with agency. Fuck that!
