It took seeing adult bullies to understand that my childhood bullies didn’t even really want to hurt me, they just wanted to feel powerful and how I felt about it wasn’t even in the equation. I can’t imagine someone not outgrowing that, but apparently it happens quite a lot!

Östersund is quite nice this time of year. On the first image we’re out walking in the ice.

Listening to Sum 41’s latest album now. I like it.

Giving the new Green Day album a listen. I don’t like it.

Another update on our school project. #gamedev #indiegame

I absolutely adore the Cassette Beasts soundtrack. The main menu music is perfect to just have in the background in almost any situation.

I started to reflect about what I enjoy when playing #TTRPG. So I wrote it down as some Principles of Roleplaying. If you are interested, give it a read. Just make sure to note that this is how I like to play, not how I think OTHERS should play. docs.google.com/document/d/1...

Watching Pokémon Journeys with the daughter. Team Rocket is an absolute delight. No doubt the stars of the show.

€500 to go. Do you want to be a sad knight in a withering world? Back it now! www.kickstarter.com/projects/bla...

The angry cat is sleeping on my AirPod case. I don’t dare to disturb her. But I want my airpods…

Another WIP update. We now have a stack of platforms placed in front of the player that we draw from to create the level during play. Each stack is made up randomly from available platforms, and each platform will (probably) come with its own challenge. #gamedev #indiedev

This gave me info and context I needed.

Very much a work in progress. In school we’ve created small teams to develop mobile games. Ours uses the mobile’s gyro to steer the ship (not shown here). I just implemented this “death animation” for the enemies. Everything will be paper and cardboard cutouts. #gamedev

My 5 y.o daughter is in the kitchen making a board game. She draws it on a paper. It sounds like the player navigates through a house and looking for stuff. There's a bed, grandma and grandpa, a starting position, and some other stuff I overhear her explaining to herself. #boardgames #gamedev

I just bought my third Aeropress. I now have one of each size. Go, XL and a regular one. One for every occasion. #coffee #aeropress

If I made another little game? You know it! I call this one Grids & Goblins for now. A rogue-like solo game where you randomize a dungeon with enemies, traps, loot, treasures, etc. Roll a die to see how far you can go each turn and draw lines to mark your way through the darkness. #boardgames

A couple of years ago I got the chance to work on the classic TTRPG KULT. The plan was to make a new Swedish edition of the game, based on the critically acclaimed KULT: Divinity Lost. The game is finally here! Look at it! So pretty! #ttrpg #gamedev #kultrpg

Playing Half Life for the first time. Some parts are really good. Other parts I absolutely hate. I’ve never played a game that I have rage quick loaded the amount of times I do in HF.

I started reading Practical Game Design this weekend, and heck it’s good! Best book on gamedev I’ve read this far. #gamedev #gamedesign

Alright. So first we left Twitter and now Threads. Let’s hope we can stay on Bluesky a little longer, ey? Time to try to build a new feed then. Again.

I'm doing some camera work tonight, using placeholder animations from Mixamo. First iteration of an aim mode. Still a lot left to do, but it feels pretty okay for a first try. #gamedev (Let's try this post again and see if the video gets posted this time...)

I just published a small text-based game on itch, called The Dungeon. It's about being stuck in a prison cell and trying to break out. It only takes a couple of minutes to play through. Music and sound effects by Alexander Hamparsomian.

The ducks in question. And some duck yoga on display as well.

The ducks have some kind of council outside. A lot of quacking. I wonder what they are planning. If you don’t hear from me in the coming days… well… quack.

I recently wrote a small interactive narrative called The Café, which is a kind of post-breakup conversation. It's by no means perfect, but it's something! If you're interested in trying it out, you can find it on my itch page. It's free and should take just a minute or two to play through.

The first draft of my portfolio is done! Got a couple of more things that I chose not to include, to keep it from being too messy. If you're interested: kwarnbergproductions.com/portfolio/

@victorojuel.bsky.social I recently finished a narrative design / game writing course on Domestika, and I think that you were the creator of said course. If so – great job! It was most helpful and inspiring!

Been working on my portfolio today. I always surprise myself with how much I've actually done over the years. My plan is to get up and running online in the coming days.

Got a feeling that the lead I hoped for regarding a job in the video game industry won’t result in anything. There still is a small chance that it will work out, but my hope is running out. Haven’t heard anything from them in a while. Time to get my shit together and look for alternatives. Sad.

Work Emails are Turn Based Combat

Game devs are tired. Writers are tired. Comic book creators are tired. Musicians are tired. Actors are tired. Every industry that produces media you love has been ravaged by a parasitic executive class who want to starve creators to feed some shitcunt's desire for a seventh house

The fact that THIS (the bucket thingie) is my portable podcast studio now is hard to fathom. So easy to take with me. No more bulky backpacks with microphones and a large recorder, topped off with a mess of cables. Just a bucket. Love it. Now I just hope the sound quality is good enough.

It feels like some kind of milestone that I now can watch videos explaining Japanese grammar, in Japanese. Sure, they use very simple Japanese, but still. I understand ~95-99% of it. youtu.be/DFgofu6lvfk?...

Might have to buy Cult of the Lamb now. www.pcgamesn.com/cult-of-the-...

On Saturday we will host a mini convention for our podcast’s Patreons and workshop/give talks about writing TTRPG adventures. I will give a presentation on how to write role-playing games as well. A lot of planning to do in the coming days.

I had quite a long break when it comes to music. For several years, I just didn't had the interest or energy to search for new music. Until one day I gave up on Spotify and went to Apple Music instead. I decided not to bring any of my old playlists and just look for new stuff. Best decision ever!
