Here to post and like and roll my eyes, mostly about Hollywood (work), Housing (live), and the Bills (where my heart gets smashed on a table every year) ☀️🌴 West Hollywood | Buffalo ❄️🦬 IMDb: https://imdb.com/name/nm2754908/

All we want is healthcare.

"What they want is for people to look at who's rich, who’s important & say, 'That’s just the way things are. That’s the way they're supposed to be.' They don’t want people looking back at the past & saying, “This is because of slavery or Jim Crow or because women were excluded from the workforce.'”

I know America can build things quickly and efficiently because we do it for cars all the time. The slow, arduous permitting and construction processes we have for public transit, bike infrastructure, green energy, and housing are a policy choice that we are free to stop making whenever we want.

“I’m just going to say it, shame on any of us who throws a trans child under the bus for thinking they’re going to get elected. That child deserves our support. Don’t worry about the pollsters calling it distractions, because we need to be the party of human dignity.”

Apparently, like universal healthcare, it's just impossible for high-speed rail to exist in America. Can't be done.

this story is just a great illustration of NIMBY nihilism. at core, these people have no vision for anything. they simply oppose change for the sake of opposition. (i also think there is an element of death denial here — if i can prevent all physical changes i can deny the reality of my mortality)

There we go baby!

Man comes to the US from Lebanon. Starts out delivering pizzas, becomes a Nobel winning neuroscientist. Trump freezes his funding, he gets an email from China offering to move his lab “any city, any university I want" with guaranteed funding for 20 years. What are we doing?

California Senators: think these headlines are bad now? As you contemplate your vote on #SB79 this week, one of the most impactful housing affordability bills of the year, consider how much worse the headlines will get if you vote no! www.kcra.com/article/cali...

It's do or die for SB 79, the bill that would legalize multifamily housing around rail and BRT stops across the state. The vote could be held as early as tomorrow morning. Californians: call your state senator tomorrow morning to help us get out of the senate! cayimby.org/legislation/...

"Sacrificing trans kids means you're serious about politics."

Musk should be asked about this in every interview he does now and forever. To ignore it is a dereliction of duty. www.nytimes.com/2025/05/30/o...

If accidentally driving over the Buffalo-Fort Erie border happens to almost 20 people a day(!), maybe fix the street design you idiots!! This is an appalling story.

“So we’re looking for a nice, family friendly movie about why letting women who want abortions bleed out in parking lots is amazing.”

this will be the most transformative housing bill in the history of California, and it’s getting close to passing if you live in CA, call your state senator and tell them to vote YES on SB79 for the climate, for equity, for housing affordability, and for good vibes

The Del Mar Tunnel CEQA comment process is now open, but NIMBYs want to shut down the US's #2 rail corridor instead of saving it from falling into the sea. Tell SANDAG by June 30th to support the fast Crest Canyon alignment and #LeaveRoomForCatenary! @ridesd.org docs.google.com/document/d/1...

why do we need a bill, it's literally in the Constitution? *SCHUMER TO OFFER BILL BLOCKING QATAR PLANE GIFT TO TRUMP: AXIOS

when is the last time you wrote an article about the cognitive abilities of Donald Trump who is: 1) the current president 2) the oldest president ever elected 3) constantly posting insane conspiracy theories and threatening celebrities

When will this media reckoning come? I’m thinking never. New from me https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2025/may/17/trump-biden-election-media-coverage?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other

I’m about done with federal agents wearing masks. Are they claiming they are in some kind of danger?

Housing is the single largest line item in most families’ finances and we should be doing everything we can to make it more affordable.

My experience in film/TV is that while AI is certainly capable of "reading" a script, it repeatedly fails to recognize emotionally resonant plot points, so its "coverage" misses pretty important story details. It's a veneer of analysis, like a book report from someone who just skimmed the novel.

Cheaper housing would: 1. Lower the cost of film production in Los Angeles and 2. Generate more economic activity generally. Dems have spent decades resting on their laurels in this state on the assumption that big employers (Media, Tech etc) are stuck here. Elected democrats need a reality check.

The writing on this season of EARTH is really too much

Sorta scared for those 6, ngl

Just deranged. This was a *solved* problem.

notable how different this is from both classical liberal and neoliberal capitalist rhetoric, which typically emphasizes dynamism and opportunity - the ability to have a better life than your parents had, to change your station, to achieve anything. here by contrast the vision is neo-feudal, static.

Despite knowing the people on the search warrant weren't there, the ICE arrest team STILL took this family's phones, laptops, and life savings — and refused to leave a BUSINESS CARD so they could ask to get it back! This stuff is sadly not unique to ICE; it happens with regular police raids too.

this guy is a world class asshole

Sometimes you watch a movie, look up the director and know intuitively – just by looking at them and long before clicking on IMDBPro – that said person is repped at WME.

This is such a fucking insult to Catholicism and dishonorable to the dead. How dare he lecture Zelensky on his clothes.

Or, instead of relying on a bullshit machine that will dry up a lake to tell you stupid lies, you could simply read a book, watch a documentary, or see a film. www.techradar.com/computing/ar...

Land use rules that outlaw the creation of dense, walkable neighborhoods

Tomorrow will be a big test on whether California will address its population declining housing shortage by building homes near transit, or shrink back beneath Texas and mathematically surrender the electoral college to Republicans for a decade. darrellowens.substack.com/p/big-day-fo...

The NYC council voting for this downgrade was just such an own goal.
