Its ridiculous. Like I think we'll probably get another cabinet shuffle post-election if they win, so I'm not too worried. But not addressing women, Quebec, minorities, or labour in your cabinet is a signpost of where you stand.

I don't like Mark Carney. The second last thing Canada needs right now is an invest banker running the country. Unfortunately, the LAST thing Canada needs is an alt-right politician like Poilievre who doesn't care for Truth, freedom, or justice!

Yes for sure! I've had a look at Bernhard's article but it was a while ago. But yes, the trials in the 1650s. Very unusual!

If youre done with your tirade... is Joe Biden complicit for genocide?

Fascinating! I've recently been looking at incidents of witchcraft in the Somers Island Co record. Some surprising instances!

Is Biden complicit in genocide or not?

I can tell just by this statement you haven't really done "street action." Those organizers are not simply "normie libs," they are activist concerned for their community and I'd wager many were in the streets for Palestine as well.

I love how you started this by being like "how are Biden/Harris close to Trump/fascism at all?" And when we make cogent points you can't respond to you just insult people who are outraged by genocide. Good to know you're okay with innocent children being slaughtered by an ethnostate tho

Pretty sure he's talking about the systemic murder of Palestinians that the Biden-Harris administration facilitated over the last year and a half. Not to mention their rightward pivot on immigration and economics.

Time for that one to make a comeback I think!

Joe Biden was actually fairly good on labour. But it wasn't just Republicans blocking those bills. There are several in the dem party who were not Joe Biden who opposed rasing the minimum wage and the PRO act.

I actually didn't know this slang until now! Very interesting. I will say I think for the majority of Canadians, they wouldn't make that association.

That is not what goof means lol. Goof just means silly, dumb or a mistake. If someone is "goofy" it just means they're being silly. If you "goof" up, it means you made a mistake.

Its so infuriating to see people draw this distinction and pretend the working class is entirely white/straight/male. It's a shared struggle, and the bourgeois take advantage of these intersections of identity to further oppress all workers.

So many edge-y atheist in these comments tryna be contrainians. The fact of the matter is that the most logical conclusion of a preponderance of evidence is that there likely was a historical Jesus. This says absolutely nothing about the literal historic truth of Christianity.

Man, get out of here with that Nazi shit. One of those people at the Western Wall is literally the pope.

Thinking of you and your family Neil. Such hard stuff to go through, especially this time of year.

Man this is social media. Next to nothing on social media is "activism," its just discourse. Activism happens in the streets.

Brother literally nobody said that and I agree with you on your point about the strike. We don't need to engage in bigotry to do that though. (If you look at the timestamps, I sent this reply before you sent yours)
comment in response to post
So your solution is to... say slurs? How does that do anything? You have absolutely zero historical or material analysis in your POV and it's warping your mind. You're playing the right wing's game when we need to burn the fucking board.
comment in response to post
This is the dumbest-ass take I've ever seen. You can "fight fire with fire" without using slurs, even if you're a part of that community.

So funny that he apparently wants a debate yet blocks me as soon as I have an answer he doesn't have a comeback for.

Lol I'm really trying to have these convos in good faith, but I'm always disappointed by the result. Your approach is very cathartic.

Direct action, donating and supporting mutual aid causes. Pressuring local govts and courts to make the right decisions. Organizing working class, low income, and marginalized people to fight for their rights. I am also personally in favor of harm reduction voting.
comment in response to post
I was literally fighting for my life on here against a liberal who was persistant that protest is "slacktivism," "whining," and saying leftist are a hindrance to Black rights.
comment in response to post
The New Deal Dems actually did pass some great programs, but its been a downhill trajectory in terms of economic policy since. Those in the party who want to push for this progress are out funded and screwed over by the party. They don't serve you, they serve their corporate donors.
comment in response to post
Why would settle for crumbs? Vote dem sure, but fight like Hell to get them to do something. What is so bad about that? Hillary tried that, until she started getting donations from Healthcare execs. Idk if you've paid attention since the millennium turned, but its been that long.
comment in response to post
I literally never once advocated against voting. Why are you against protest? The only thing I've said in this thread is that leftist push for progress through a variety of means. They are not the enemy and protest is good and necessary for change. Why can't we all he united on that?
comment in response to post
So once again, I'll ask. What's your take? What's your solution? If I don't get an answer, I guess you're just some kind of troll.

The Republicans of the 21st century are fascists, and if I was American, I would've voted Dem. I focus on direct action and funding because none of the parties in the US and Can actually want to make change. Also, just one example, Aris T Allen was a Repub politician and active in the NAACP.
comment in response to post
The Democrats, and some earlier civil rights activist joined the Republican party during Reconstruction. And, many others joined no political party at all. Some made their own party outside of electoral politics, like the Black Panthers.
comment in response to post
So, according to you, the only way to make change is to run for office or vote. And protest or anything else is useless, performative, and bad actually. This is an insane take.
comment in response to post
All of them seemed office after engaging in direct action and protest. They made great contributions to civil rights, but to pretend that civil rights were won because of party politics is just not true.
comment in response to post
I'll answer when you answer any one of my several questions. Im trying to have a good faith dialogue because we seem to agree on a lot.
comment in response to post
Since you asked me, what do you do outside of voting? Or is it all just about party politics for you? If you didnt notice, none of those leaders where members of those parties, and they engaged in protest and direct action to twist the arm of the politicians.
comment in response to post
My point is that you are saying that the left is the problem because of white people doing white people things, rather than saying whiteness is the problem across the political spectrum. The left, in general, throughout the world, has championed civil rights.
comment in response to post
Can you give an example of a "viable political force"? Do you think the only way to make change is wait until some politician decides they want to do something? Is organizing a totally invalid thing to you? Is ever how any major changes have come about?
comment in response to post
I have never, and will never, claim to speak for the leaders of those causes. They may totally disagree with me rn. I just want to know, why blame the whole left when the problem is whiteness and white supremacy?
