The issue with alternate versions of Batman is that if you push Batman in any direction, you just end up with superheroes that already exist. Batman that's poor? That's Daredevil. Batman that kills? That's Punisher. Young quippy Batman and is athletic? That's Nightwing, who is just Spider-Man.
