Oh, and you know what I didn't mention there: the time travel dinosaur thriller I'm writing! Utilising some more obscure Dinos for it, rather than the usual suspects.

Sounds like good praise. Would you say it's a good place to start reading Dalglish's books?

I've heard so many good things about this book. I intend to read Licanius first, but this is definitely something I'll dive into one day, regardless of my experience with Licanius.

And in the process of planning Part Two I'll probably work out the details of the full series Doomprince serves to introduce. And once that series is done, there'll be a whole world that can be explored.

I have saved all of your suggestions and I will look into them all. They sound interesting and at least adjacent to what I'm looking for — and I do want to diversify my reading, so these are ideal in that regard, too.

This is the third time, on the third app, that this has been recommended to me. Looks like a must-buy!

Unfortunately I don't speak/read Spanish. Hopefully this recommendation proves useful to others!

Welcome, Mr Gwynne (or should I say Chief Gwynne?). It's a joy to have you here 🙌🏻

Thank you. There's what are sort of the "evil gods of the underworld" known as Vaemoresar, and in later projects in this world I'll likely explore "lesser gods" from other, older religions, but they can probably be differentiated by the difference but Gods and gods.

They are elite, highly regarded warriors, but not knights like in our world. Still, he is afforded the honorific of "ssur", which sounds Iike "sir/ser", so he is Ser Vaurotha, Knight of the Döhmlaxen in my book.

I find I keep going back to stories from The Complete Fiction of H.P. Lovecraft

Looks like I may have considered this Silmarillion/Ainulindalë/Akallabêth thing before, considering this suffix I created for my Elvish languages 🤔

Ahh, but the temptation would be there. "Whatever does a mouse need a ring for? For cheese? It would be safer in my hands ... I could do greater things..."

My first read was the Conclave of Shadows trilogy, starting with Talon of the Silver Hawk, and that's what made me fall in love with the world and writing, but I was missing a fair amount of backstory.

Magician is the best place to start to get to know the world(s) and characters. I know I love it, although it's a thick one and the story can meander a bit. The Empire Trilogy is super good, and can maybe be read alone to get you invested, but I think it makes more sense after reading Magician.

Such a good feeling! Feels even better when you write the last one, too

Dear Hailey, Please stop calling me out 😂 Seriously, my list of ideas is way too long and new stuff keeps appearing 😅

I loved Sunbringer as much as I loved Godkiller (and that's a lot)

This is super good. I feel like it influenced my own cosmic horror / weird fiction writing in ways I can't express. I still need to read the sequels, though.

I really liked Priory, so this bodes well for how much I'll enjoy this. Just a few more books on my TBR to read first 😬

I feel like this is only the beginning of its worsening 😕

Part of my reason for sharing this is that Instagram decided it "Promotes counterfeit products or infringes on IP", or some nonsense like that. But I'll make I habit of sharing it here every Friday for as long as my fantasy fixation lasts.

I will always recommend him. Reading his first series reinvigorated my love of fantasy when it started to flag.

A familiar feeling. Today, I only intended to check some details of Araz lore, and I've ended up spending hours expanding it 😅

A fine blade! To be honest, I'd quite like Orcrist in my collection

I agree with that logic! And not just any sword: Andúril, Flame of the West! 🙌🏻
