Played my first game of Astrea: Six-Sided Oracles today. It's a roguelite deckbuilder but the deck is made of dice, and you manipulate the sides of the dice as you work on your build. Even from one game I can tell this is really good. Reminds me of Slay the Spire & Monster Train!

I made the mistake of going from a marathon 120 hour playthrough of Kingdom Come Deliverance (AMAZING, PLAY IT) to Avowed, and Avowed just missed the mark for me. I got 17 hours in, and was well into the second region when I decided to drop it. Glad I played it via Game Pass rather than sinking $70!

Finished Stellar Blade today! Enjoyed it quite a lot. Good boss fights and decently fun exploration. Took a while to click, but once it did, combat became great fun. Glad I gave it a chance. Looking forward to more from this studio!

I keep seeing the word "underwhelmed" regarding the reveal of the Switch 2. The hype train barely pulled out of the station. On the other hand, Nintendo's 1st party exclusives are all they need to keep me buying their hardware, so I suppose it doesn't really matter that much. Animal Crossing please!

The vista of the Tree of Mana in Visions of Mana is the most beautiful sight I've ever seen in any video game. It's rare that a game gets me to stop and stare. Just stunning. I'd share a screen but... maybe you should just play the game! Also, if you're not sold on HDR yet, this game will sell you.

I wonder about Shadow of the Erdtree in all this. Wukong winning player's choice definitely indicates the majority player opinion on DLC in awards shows (definitive dissent which leaves me in the minority), but after all that, Erdtree didn't win anything at all! Did they back down bc of backlash?

That Elden Ring reveal has me curious how the community is going to react when people discover that it's 3-player roguelite with ~45-minute game sessions. I get the feeling it's going to be pretty divisive. IGN has a hands-on preview and I'm not sure what to make of it. Looking forward to it though!
