Seems like China would be happy to step into that void

lots of people on multiple form of federal aid all absolutely hate the government and approve cutting it down to nothing. Far right ideology is absolutely suicidal and no I am not going to change that word if people start to @ me that I used it.

It has and does serve me well, and you too. In 1900 the average life expectancy was about 47. Now it's 77. Why? Science. You should you spend some time learning how to read those articles you cite rather than just being sarcastic and name calling. Nah, name calling is SO much easier, Amiright?

I'm not mad. I just read studies before I parrot the sensationalist click-bait and memes that are based on them.

Posting inflammatory headlines about non-peer reviewed observational studies doesn't show that children were harmed by the COVID vaccination, but rather that you don't understand how to read scientific studies

I heard this interview and it made me ill. Tech bro feels "the system" didn't keep it's promise because, though he made $1.9B, The Government is too up in his business and "Legacy Media" and liberals aren't praising his virtue enough?

Just to be clear, it's pronounced "Douche-hat", right?

No - to the MAGA crowd you can't be an immigrant and also white. For Musk it's not the "race card" it's the race "get-out-of-jail-free card"

Bernie polled way better against Trump than Hillary did and the ol' school Dems torpedoed his campaign. People are desperate for an alternative to the status quo. Bernie offered it, Hillary and now Kamala didn't. Trump did. Pretty simple, really

Why is this man still showing up on my computer screen? Isn't there some pretense we can use to lock him away? Anything?

The U.S. is the only country that thinks being poor is a sin - a view propagated by the supposedly morally superior wealthy to make the poor hate themselves. In most countries the folk heroes are poor and thus pure of spirit (Don Quixote?). Not in the U.S (h/t Vonnegut)

Rich people ARE congress

But isn't that what we do best in the U.S., turning misery into dollars? Since the rich are morally superior to the rest of us, I suppose it serves us right

Anunoby and Bridges have not been bringing it. Bridges 1/5 from 3, Anunoby 1/9. And we're getting killed on the offensive boards. Minus 10 this game and 28th in the league this season. Mitch?

Of course you are right. I think it's an important question to ask what beliefs and opinions bind them all together, rather than what their differences might be. We can't understand each one of them but we can try to understand their shared beliefs

That was a miserable performance. Mikal is still killing us. How is a career 85% FT shooter shooting 61% this year??

Neither - they are angry, hostile people who feel that the game is already lost for him and just want to kick over the table on their way out. They know what they are voting for. Trump says and does everything they wish they could do.

If they rob US gold reserves to pump up bitcoin it's an easy arbitrage play - sell bitcoin and buy gold. Pumping n' dumping bitcoin might fool the Trump-crypto faithful, but not the rest of the world. Will only weaken the USD and worsen inflation. The USD is already on shaky ground

That's a good example of "the exception proves the rule". The fact that you can even point to individual cases in those countries proves that gun violence is not rampant there. Unlike in the US where there have been 15,571 gun death so far in 2024 (not to mention 474 mass shootings)

Many believe the Right's rhetoric and that's where their analysis ends. We are told that the left ignored the pleas of the working class, that violence was up, inflation out of control, and immigrants harming the economy. Maybe their beliefs are the result of an effective disinformation campaign?
