The trick: Use price tracking tools like camelcamelcamel.com to see how prices change over time. Donโ€™t let the flashy ads fool you. Youโ€™ll likely find better deals before or after Black Friday. Plus, faster shipping and less risk of getting damaged goods when companies arenโ€™t overwhelmed.

I don't have #ADHD, but I used to get bored and distracted during meditation - until I discovered the Waking Up app. It teaches you to accept and observe your thoughts, making the whole practice way easier to stick with. If you havenโ€™t called it quits yet, give the intro courses a shot ๐Ÿ˜‰.

Congrats, Marikit! You're almost at the finish line. ๐Ÿ’ช Good luck with the revisions - you've got this!

It's hard to see progress in the grind of daily life, but when you zoom out, it all starts to make sense. Before you know it, you'll be wrapping up your PhD, realizing just how much you've achieved along the way.

It is awesome that you know your priorities and spend money on what makes you happy (even if tomorrow your back hurts ๐Ÿคซ) ๐Ÿ’ช

Hope your PhD is at least as good as the PhD communities you create ๐Ÿ˜‰

Why is that? Not dreaming about a better-paid position with more stability? ๐Ÿ˜€

I like to give myself tentative deadlines. In this way, I am not giving it more time than it should take to get it done. And I agree, music helps ๐Ÿ˜‰ Best of luck, and do not forget to enjoy the process and take breaks when needed. ๐Ÿ’ช

The one that's useful to you ๐Ÿ˜‰ How many planners did I have that did not work for me? Now, I just stick to a weekly planner where I can see the compromises for the week ahead.

True, life does seem to back up our worries sometimes, but on the flip side, facing those experiences also gives us the chance to prove we can handle them. ๐Ÿ’ช

4/4 So, next time youโ€™re eyeing a new gadget, maybe consider whether the stock is a better long-term investment. You might thank yourself later. ๐Ÿ˜‰ #AcademicChatter #AcademicSky #PhD #PhDlife #Apple #iPhone

3/4 Donโ€™t get me wrong, I still love my iPhone. But the numbers donโ€™t lie - buying the company is a better investment than buying the product (especially if youโ€™re tempted to upgrade every year).
comment in response to post
2/4 Now, if instead of buying that new iPhone, I had thrown that same $1,099 into AAPL stock on release day (09/16/22), that investment would be worth $1,655.14 today! ๐Ÿ“ˆ

Maybe start by having a blog, at least to have a portfolio to show at job interviews.
