“You don’t have the authority to arrest US citizens,” Lander said. “I’m not obstructing, I am standing right here in the hallway. … You don’t have the authority to arrest US citizens asking for a judicial warrant.”

Same. I think he has a screw or two missing. And he's not very bright. Read his Twitter feed... he publicly attacks anybody who even mildly criticizes him and sics his MAGA followers on them.

It was JD Vance who said Trump might be America's Hitler. Trump's own former chief of staff, as well as his former Joint Chiefs chair called him a "fascist to the core." These people are fascists, opportunists, or authoritarian stooges. It's almost as if they WANT to be compared to the n*zis.

Appreciate where Will is coming from but filing impeachment resolution now is a marker and it's an important one. Dems have to lay out a clear marker on how this regime is violation our laws and const and then communicate that to broad public. It's part of accountability & const. due diligence.

So he’s allowed to say tar and feather a public official on national TV, and Magats can put life size posters of a hogtied Biden on their pickup trucks, etc. But we can’t spell out 8647 in seashells? 😳 Got it.

CODA: Here's a special bonus for you. Today's pod discusses all of this with @gelliottmorris.com, who is just great in explaining why media figures' priors are leading them to reflexively declare authoritarian lawlessness good politics for Trump:

This style of coverage not only normalizes Trump's authoritarianism, but misleads readers that it's popular (it's not)
