As a child I once asked him what he did on D-Day - "fixing the damned phones in Rome".

My Signal Corps Grandfather, who carpooled to MIT with David Rockefeller, voted for Obama in 08 saying "the GOP has gone dumb"

My wife Stacie is going home to Rothschild this weekend. She's going to watch it with her mom for a local's opinion.

Here's the other question: When was the last time a guard unit was federalized against a state's will? The 60's?? I'm betting nobody has any idea what to do when a NG unit is deployed and the state has said "you're on your own". Like what are the ramifications of that on the ground?

So I only know Milwaukee from the neighborhood where my FIL lives. Never had any issues whatsoever visiting him. But the reaction I get when I say I've only really spent time around N76th and Silver Spring is deeply funny. Like i just got back from a warzone.

Guess they don't show Eyes on the Prize in school anymore. Or teach A Letter from a Birmingham Jail.

Not to mention that The Light We Carry is pretty damn motivational, and available at your local library.

Do the Marines even have comms that work with LAPD? Cell phones routinely get jammed by cops during protests, so that's not exactly reliable.

A copy of PGA TOUR 2K25 is roughly the cost of a single round of golf at a middling course.
comment in response to

PGA Tour 2K25 costs $70 and is still less than a single round of actual golf.

Funny how they don't doubt the other names of boats in the John Lewis class ... Earl Warren, Lucy Stone, Thurgood Marshal, RFK, Ruth Bader Ginsburg ...

These groups all have a chain of command where they can't really refuse orders from Trump, the reason it's Coast Guard is they are exempt from the Posse Comitatus law, unlike the other military branches.

Soo ... many of these interesting collective nouns were just made up as jokes by a lady in a book about hunting from 1486 (the first known book in English written by a woman btw). Some made it into common parlance after the book got popular, many didn't.

The double dragon movie should be rated higher just for the cool river chase scene.

I'm gonna go out on a line and say your meds don't include anything routinely given by ER doctors before invasive life saving procedures.

Oh, I meant that a lot of the deadheads still have a bunch of working old analog equipment going back to the reel-to-reel days - there's one guy I know who still has a working dual Nakamichi Dragon setup for instance.
It's unlikely you have any new low-gen GD shows (freak out if you see 2/6/79 tho)

This deadliest day in US military history was 10/24/1944 and 2,600 soldiers died (folks rebelling against our country don't count, but even if you include traitors, Antietam still doesn't top the list).
During Covid, one week in January 2021 - more that 3,500 Americans died every day for a week.

Seren hasn't registered with the BOE and isn't getting signatures to be on the ballot - he's not running again anyways.
Plus he can't be removed for these behaviors - he hasn't risen to the criteria listed in the Heights charter for it. Council is not talking about that.
