Stagflation, Vietnam draft, 21% prime interest rate (7.5 now), gas rationing, 14% inflation (2.4 now), 7.5% unemployment (4.2 now), 16% mortgage rates when I graduated (6.9 now). Tell me again how much easier everything was for me. 🙄

1981 it was 18.6%.
The 1970s was marked by high inflation. It was the “Great Inflation". Due to the Vietnam War spending, the abandonment of the gold standard, and the 1973 oil crisis. This oil crisis had me waiting in gas lines for an hour.
