I saw a BBC news report about these lights, the children relished that they can see their designs displayed each year, brilliant 🎄

So did I until it dwindled into percentages and market value! Not the Dickensian speak I was expecting 🤣

Yes, it certainly does feel this way at times. Financial wealth is helpful, but doesn’t necessarily give you what you need, I find this being the biggest stumbling block for many. I really admire the sense of perseverance The Pearl raises, a fine quality in today’s society.

Oscar Wilde is one of my favourite writers, I’ve seen various productions of this play, but would love to see this version.

Did you stumble across the pre loved book stalls adjacent to The National? Always great to while away some time browsing there.

Actually, privacy and time is an excellent point. Maybe feeling the confines of the environment and collective shock made it all the more difficult. The main actor James Norton has recently revealed he has PTSD after taking the part!

You’ve jogged my memory about a moment in work yesterday. I was examining an 8 year old and chatting to her as a distraction. I asked ‘what is your favourite pastime’, she answered; reading! I was overjoyed as we talked about her favourite books 📚

I don’t know if I could ever read this book. Having seen the stage production in the West End last year, I was utterly shocked. I came out of the Harold Pinter feeling as if I’d had the wind knocked out of me! It was brutal.

The Diary of Anne Frank, which I first read 45 years ago. It had such an impact that helped form some of my beliefs that I still hold fast to today. I found visiting the museum in Amsterdam very emotional.
