June classes are up at California Bliss Dept.! June can be a bit gloomy, but a little yoga goes a long way. Come practice with me. No membership fees and allllll levels very welcome! 😊💕

Tokyo!! Doing a couple gigs w/ my band @santadharma.bsky.social this weekend! 5/30 at Oriental Force in Koenji. 5/31 at Gamuso in Asagaya. Maybe no one will come since I've been out of the country & no chance to promote these events, but hopefully I'm wrong! 😂😇

I love how I'll just be working away on my computer and suddenly I find that both of my cats are curled up on either side of me on the tatami. They're so quiet & chill I don't even notice their arrival.

I've been trying to get a COVID booster before I go back to the states & called around to a few places who were listed on government websites, & they're like, we don't have those anymore??!! Luckily found a place that did but so weird considering I'm willing to pay lots of ¥¥ for it.

The Dallas ICE office is involved in a mass removal effort targeting nearly 200 people — many without removal orders — scheduled to be deported to El Salvador today. This is not just cruel – it is lawless. I refuse to stay quiet while families are being torn apart, and lives are being put at risk.

This is an obvious point, but cannot overstated. There is an enormous difference between deporting someone - where they get off a plane as a free citizen in their home country AND FUNNELING THEM INTO A BRUTAL PRISON FROM WHICH THEY HAVE NO CHANCE OF EVER EMERGING!!!

Why I don't charge membership fees: -Folks can study at a variety of studios. -I can rest when I need it (so can my students) -Folks can travel abroad w/o penalties. -One-time visitors feel welcome. Tokyo people looking to move mindfully, come try it!

YouTube has definitely made yoga available to a larger group of people, and that's great, but also really common for students to come to my studio saying they tried yoga on YouTube & injured themselves. Great teachers can make in-person classes just for you, not an imaginary student.

I saw a tanuki back in January & it made my day. Today I've been feeling low about the state of the world, and then that same (?) tanuki popped out from the bushes. A lady who feeds the cats around there said she gave it medicine & it was looking so much healthier than when I saw it the 1st time. 💕
