Entomologist. Obsessed with flies. Keen on wasps and bees. Enjoy other insects, birdsong, finding places free of cars and dogwalkers. I don't look much like my avatar image anymore. Love a pint or two of a well served pale ale in a cosy pub with no tv.

Ah. It's the finger tatooing and a cult punk band. I was a tad slow on the uptake there. Not unusually!

Modern Dance - what an album! Just fantastic and it still does the rounds in my head on a regular basis. Thank you David Thomas.

I shall show my wife this next time she asks me "how many flies do you need?" At least I can say "not as many as this other Jones"

It is. The greatest science powerhouse on the planet looks to be in the hands of the Christian 'taliban". Awful.

Hmmm. Reckon it's more likely that those same people spend a lot of time outside in nature. I'd put my £ on that being the actual key life extending factor. Animal naming may just be a proxy?

Who else clicks on images, then hits the back button and unintentionally leaves the site, going to whatever site was previously viewed, rather than just going back to the BS page of posts the photo was in? Can this be amended so that the back button from image view does not take you out of Bluesky?

An absolute legend. Such very sad news.

Having found a lengthy description of the species it almost certainly is a moss flea beetle Mniophila muscorum. 😄

The approach strikes me as utter nonsense anyway. Are we to believe that there was not already a lizard population at the new site?

14 gooseander near footbridge at Coleham. 2 cormorants in tree at toll bridge. Heard siskins in cemetery. But really quite quiet otherwise.
