The time has come for Washington to withdraw support for the Netanyahu government’s worsening slaughter of innocents in Gaza. Israel needs a true friend to stop it further sliding into ignominy

Israeli airstrikes have unleashed devastating attacks across Gaza, with 34 bombings in the past 24 hours alone, according to Gaza’s Government Media Office. At least 71 Palestinians in Gaza have been killed so far in 2025.

😂😂 one would think that the poor poor prince would buckle under the almighty pressure of having two family members unwell, his caring duties would be enormous. 🙄

And of course what's for breakfast at this Murrigella's house, leftover ham...Anybody willing to share their leftover ham recipes should you (a) have any leftovers (b) eat ham (c) not have any recipes or (d) can't even contemplate food at this point in time due to over indulgence.

Merry Xmas to all the workers who give up their own family and friend time today, but especially those in the aged care and disability sector who often provide the family experiences for others. You are undervalued champions. May you and those you support have the best day possible. 🎄 🎁 ❤️

Oh, go on, it's Christmas Eve. Give them one reskeet, as a treat.

ONE HUNDRED women dead this year. A shameful milestone. Endless thanks to those who continue speaking up against sexist jokes, societal inequity, gendered pay gap and thousands of other ways we allow disrespect for women. Because this👇 is how disrespect ends. 💔 🙏@sherelemoody.bsky.social

Do you know how much CEO pay has skyrocketed since 1978? 100%? 500%? Try 1,085% Meanwhile, the $7.25/hr fed. minimum wage hasn't budged in 15 years and the tipped min. wage has been $2.13/hr since 1991. This is what I mean when I say the system is rigged.

gosh, naughty CEOs... (naughty CEOs) something about the consequences of naughty CEOs was mentioned somewhere recently ... (mm, must see if I can find it again) 🤔

$3 billion in revenue the year private equity took over. It had been profitable for 2 out of the past 3 years. Golden Gate Capital loaded up the company with debt, slashed costs, and stripped out assets, paying themselves $1.09 in dividends for every $1 in earnings. 16,000 people lost their jobs.

Xmas trauma's just daily pain punctuated by deluded hope.

What’s going on at the Guardian?

The Albanese government has approved three new coal mine expansions days out from Christmas, in a move that appears not to have been announced publicly. The approvals concern Caval Ridge, Lake Vermont Meadowbrook and Boggabri Coal Mine. They also appear to have been posted two hours ago.

Posting this immediately after approving 4 coal mine extensions (that, according to campaigners, could lead to 850m tonnes of CO2 being emitted) is... quite a choice.

Israel has deliberately restricted Gaza’s water supply to levels below minimum needs. Human Rights Watch says this amounts to an act of genocide and extermination as a crime against humanity. When will Israel be held accountable? Why hasn't the AUS Govt introduced sanctions? #auspol #GazaGenocide

It was the week before Xmas and nothing stirred except the Albanese govt which just approved THREE new big coal mine extensions. Thanks, Tanya. These people will do nothing to stop climate change. They are instead making it much worse.

Well, well. Taking out the trash. @tanyaplibersekmp.bsky.social just approved three coal mines big enough to swallow Sydney. @australiainstitute.org.au epbcpublicportal.environment.gov.au/all-notices/ pic.twitter.com/vOeHqrqnVd

I imagine that as far as prison hierarchy goes, while not on the God tier of mafia don or cartel boss, CEO Assassin has to be soft time.

In our car-centred societies people consider harms caused by cars as negligible or inevitable. "If you light up a cigarette outside a school you will probably be surrounded by parents saying "put it out" but the same parents think nothing of idling their cars while waiting for their children."

Just received news that a friend’s cousin that I went to school with has died. She’s the same age as me. Has been fighting breast cancer for over 10 years. She has 3 kids. A similar age to mine. So sad. I’m gutted. Vale Rita. #FuckCancer.
