My brain probs works differently, but a game has to HIT to make me do that. Like on the level of BG3 or Cyberpunk2077 (after the fixes). Control has kind of done that, but mostly because I really like the combat, though it’s gotten me interested in Alan Wake in general

Hard agree. Cutting off online is reasonable, at which point I’d start modding the FUCK out of it just to spite them and make it an even better console

Oh and the shit Nintendo’s doing about “if we find out you modded your system we will brick it” and the physical cartridges just being physical versions of digital keys that let you pull a license to play the game, no game data on the cart. That’s a mask off attack on consumer rights.

Oh I love a good goofy glitch. But the gamebreaking ones being so common nowadays is a dealbreaker for me as far as a full priced AAA game

If I did my job 80% of the way and then had to do the other 20% after it was due every time, I’d be fired super quick. But we, as consumers, have let publishers get away with releasing half-baked games for full-baked prices.

In my mind, games nowadays, regardless of MSRP, are being released as buggy messes and then fixed in post-release updates so I don’t see a reason to pay that much for them if they’re not going to put the time and effort into making their product work. Obviously easier said than done, but still

I painted with a broad brush, referring to Switch 2 games being $90 for physical copies. I just meant that $60 to $90 is a 50% increase. My b

Like yes inflation is a thing. But also game prices have gone up 50% in the last 5 years, and the quality has not kept up in general, AND I seriously doubt the people actually building the games are being paid 50% more.

I finally have a group of friends IRL that actually check on me regularly and I didn’t realize what I had been missing out on since the original covid lockdowns. Those small gestures are SO powerful

I’ve started getting scam texts from other iPhones so I send them memes consisting of pregnant characters from various franchises or a meme that says “what have you done to deserve your legs?” And they usually block me after that

My friends were all mean about April fools. The only one I ever successfully pulled off was telling my roommate I was thinking about switching out of music and he took me out to lunch to talk about it and I said “oh I’m not actually changing I just wanted your reaction” then paid for both meals.
