If we’re just talking about writing then The Apothecary Diaries 100% deserves it though. I couldn’t get into it Frieren, maybe it changes but the whole melancholy tone plus me not vibing with the MC PLUS the generic western-style fantasy setting made that show a no-go for me.

To clarify, it is not my favourite show of the past year, not by a mile. Writing is the most important thing in a piece of media BUT when taking all factors about a series into account, SL is an 11/10 in pretty much everything else and that artistry deserves to be awarded.

And all this is coming from someone who was really excited for season 2. Season 1 is one of my favourite pieces of Star Wars media. However the big difference is of course that things actually happen in season 1 beyond people standing around and yapping.

Seriously though, I judge media based off the emotions it makes me feel and I am a very emotional individual, I cry at basically anything that’s even slightly sad and yet the only emotion I felt during the first THIRD of the season was disgust at a scene that shouldn’t even be in the fucking series.

Also I started watching The Batman. I’m really enjoying it, I love Bruce’s characterisation. Kinda surprised I haven’t seen it before since it’s got similar vibes to my own Batman AU.
