Rep. McBride has emphasized what was clear from Ken Martin’s actions as DNC chair: the Democrats have learned the wrong lessons from Trump’s win. That’s a choice, and it seems to be one they’re happily making

I watched about fifteen minutes of the interview. Even that much was hard to get through. Sad to say she’s an incrementalist and a centrist who is trying to argue for her own acceptance in a club that has insulted and devalued her and those who follow her at every turn

I love The Twin Snakes and I also hate it. I love it because it was the first MGS game I completed as a kid, and I finally *got* why people loved Kojima. I hate it because adding in first person mode a la MGS2 basically trivializes some of the fights (like the one against Ocelot)

God what I wouldn’t give to stop seeing claims about Kenosha being “razed”. These people wouldn’t know what to do if a city actually burned to the ground

W had nothing to do with Desert Storm. That followed Desert Shield (1990-91) from January 17 1991 through February 28 1991 when American forces liberated Kuwait from Iraqi forces. Helps to get your timeline correct.

I will not lie, I laughed quite a bit at Mark Ruffalo in this… but I also got about 90 minutes in and started wondering when it was ending. Right around the intensely weird sex scene. Just… ugh

No joke about Yugoslavs loving Tito. In the late 90s, my family took in an ethnic Muslim family from Bosnia, refugees from the war. I clearly remember the father saying in thickly accented English “Tito good.” They loved him, still do.

😮 this is absolutely an anime school ass game, but it has like… a really cool narrative structure, detailed and expressive art, and while one half of the game is a visual novel the other half is a fast paced strategy game with vector graphics. It’s *cool* and sci fi as hell

“the miracle mile” lmao

Counterpoint: that scene at the beginning of Vanilla Sky with Radiohead playing and Cruise running through Times Square is pretty memorable to me

“Say hello to my little friend” and the camera cuts to Salacious B. Crumb

It absolutely was. And the Kennedys were famously corrupt. Anyone who says otherwise doesn’t know their history

Given that they’ve worked hand in hand together, I don’t think it’s easy to argue that it might not mean much. They clearly share the same views. It’s not a stretch to suggest that Elabed’s very platform has been intentionally boosted by her sister
comment in response to post
I think it’s pretty important to note that the activist Layla Elabed, who is pretty prominent in the linked article, is a sister of Rashida Tlaib.

Yeah, it’s weird. Years ago I would have recommended going into Library > Preferences and then removing the Safari plist, followed by doing the same in the cache. Apple really started pushing against that move.
comment in response to post
Hmm, that’s odd. From there I would personally try a recovery boot to repair/verify the boot drive. But, because Safari is an OS based app, this might be pointing towards a reinstall of MacOS (I was Apple Tier 2 support in a past life)
comment in response to post
Does safari do the same thing in safe mode?

While I didn’t play co-op I can say that I loved a solid chunk of this game. Also though, what they did with the towns is egregious and whoever made that choice should be shunned. Nicely.

The sheer temerity of being that condescending while also posting in all lower case

*one of the detectives dammit
comment in response to post
I found out he was the detective in The Usual Suspects last week, which kind of blew my mind

Shouldn’t need to be said, but you can stick up for the problem while being a decent fucking human being. You’re answering hatred with hatred. It doesn’t work and it never has. This comment is mostly for the people who read this later because I’m blocking you. ✌️
comment in response to post
Honestly it’s not my problem that you perceive what I’m saying as “patronizing”. I’m calling on you to be better. You’ve responded with nothing but snide remarks and ad hominem attacks. I’m sorry being checked by someone who has similar beliefs to you bothers you. Truly. But patronizing? lol.
comment in response to post
You’re not even an effective troll. Again, this is not the energy the Left needs. Have a nice one.
comment in response to post
Sorry you feel so defensive.
comment in response to post
I’m not patronizing. I’m calling on you to remove the plank from your eye before pointing out the mote in mine.
comment in response to post
I’m saying this as a far left anarcho-syndicalist. I don’t “disagree” with you but you need to choose your time, you need to choose a place, and you need to choose your audience. As I said before, attacking a billionaire because he lost a friend is dehumanizing. It is not your best.
comment in response to post
You keep trying to justify this. And there’s simply no justification. Richard Branson isn’t Elon Musk. Do you want to know why the broader Left movement has issues attracting people? Comments like the ones you’ve made. Attitudes like the one you’re nurturing. That might be a place to start.
comment in response to post
This comment is nonsense. I appreciate your passion. I don’t appreciate attacking me for no reason besides me calling on you to have some compassion. There’s a time and a place for your anger, a comment on a brief written eulogy ain’t it
comment in response to post
That’s a big fucking problem. You attract more flies with honey than vinegar. Like you said, it’s not complicated.
comment in response to post
No, you’re right, being a good person isn’t complicated. You don’t have to tell me about the wealthy or inequality. You don’t have to lecture about feeling angry about that stuff. However it seems very obvious that you’re letting your anger get in the way of acknowledging our commonalities.
comment in response to post
Dehumanizing others sure feels good in Trump 2.0, doesn’t it? Giving them a taste of their own medicine? Or you could try being a good human being. Acknowledging our shared humanity is far more effective than doing the exact thing the right is from the other side.

Cimino was such a weird director. His movie Heaven’s Gate was also the reason you see a “no animals were harmed” message at the end of movies, so, uh, that’s cool I guess
comment in response to post
Oh this is a blast from the past. It was a game I never played but it had such a reputation on the ps2. It’s early Suda 51, and I’ve heard that means exactly what it sounds like Also, ffs can they please release more killer 7?
comment in response to post
I like that there’s no d pad attachments and it’s just not mentioned
comment in response to post
Yeah this is bad shit. I’ve read about the group this kid is alleged to be associated with and let’s just say the people doubting the FBI in this matter have no idea who this group is
comment in response to post
No one knows. It’s like appointing Dr. Nick as head of foreign policy. “Alright, let’s operate! I saw this in a movie once!”
comment in response to post
Just read a passage about this exact thing in a sci fi book I’m working through twenty five years after I first read it

The worst part about Tuberville is that his gambit worked. Conservatives and the libertarian right think he’s brilliant. But he’s not, he just listened to an aide.

I’m glad there’s movement here. Each senator has the ability to hold up unanimous consent. It’s not just for confirmations; it’s also for normal procedure. Something like 90% of Senate work is done via unanimous consent. When that’s understood, it shows how egregious Dem inaction has been
