An amazing example of what can be done with an awful expanse of concrete like it used to be.

Also contains one of my favorite Simpsons throwaway jokes: "Wow! Governor's Island looks so insignificant from up here!"

Herzog, who was battling alcoholism, told STAT and the Boston Globe that he was not intoxicated when he arrived at the LA studio. In his dressing room, he said, he found a bottle of Smirnoff vodka. He drank all of it. Then someone handed him a Xanax, he said, telling him it would βcalm his nerves.β

There's one way.. an easy 2 seat train ride, it's just that one of those seats takes 23 hours and the other takes another 8 and only runs 3 times a week, and the transfer point is Chicago. Oh also the layover is 8 hours and you'd arrive in Cincinnati at 3:30AM

The Royal Tenenbaums is one of my all time favorite movies, and I liked Darjeeling Limited, but I find most of the rest of his films pretty forgettable.

I especially like the "your city your future" tagline because it strongly implies that Nepo baby JK has no stake in it

I will say that a good corn muffin split in half and grilled in a pan with butter is pretty pretty good.

I just looked into it and I figured it was some long standing homage to the native population that taught the colonists to grow corn, but nope - just some schoolkids in the 1980s who liked corn muffins

I only ever rode it once (because my kid wanted to). Among other issues, the stop at Union Station is on a trash covered median in the middle of a bridge, and then you have to cross the street and walk through the huge parking garage to connect to the Metro. It's the X9 bus but shorter, and worse.

Of all the shows I've seen that bus at, the only time anyone ever tried to get me to go on it was in the parking lot of a Kroger in Savannah, GA. I think they were on break and saw my Phish shirt as an opportunity

When I answered "yes" to that question, the doctor wrote me a prescription for a single Xanax pill to take in the waiting room before the MRI. It definitely made me less claustrophobic for the necessary amount of time
