Reminds me of this study they did on a pottery class where half the class were told they'd be graded by quantity and the other half by quality.
The best products came out of the students graded by quantity who just kept outputting more stuff.

To be fair the book includes non earth animals so maybe "desert condor" is a fantasy bird but if I were worldbuilding the last idea I'd put to paper would be "let's make a condor variant that is a bird of prey"
