Endless thanks for cradling Big T in love, and choosing to take on that grief. Many of us have been worried about you after your neck injury and shots—hope you are healing and feeling better.

The foundation of the Nazi regime, what made genocide possible, was the institutionalisation of deportation, incarceration, and extermination. It was the systematic construction of infrastructures of exclusion and death, and a bureaucracy that unthinkingly supported and normalised those aims.

Here’s a link to the original post, statedept.substack.com/p/the-need-f..., and in case some context helps, a paper of mine with @richschragger.bsky.social on religious antiliberalism, which might helps explain some of this: papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers....

Whatever you think of nationwide injunctions, it was that framing decision that empowered Trump to continue enforcing the EO against people who haven't sued yet. That's just indefensible manipulation. bsky.app/profile/sbag...

That's particularly true because equitable remedies have always been understood as marked by flexibility to meet the nature of the issue and the harm. What the Court did (which, again, isn't totally new) is mindless originalism on steroids.

I’m curious why you think the six justices in the CASA majority allowed multiple universal injunctions against the Biden administration to stand, then abolished universal injunctions within six months of Trump’s return to office

- Religious exception rulings apply only to the plaintiffs. - Environmental regulations continue to be enforced despite rulings against them (just not against plaintiffs). - and on and on. The left has to use this decision, not just criticize it. It'll be chaos, but that's what the Justices get.

Which means a baby born in New York to undocumented parents will be a citizen. But a baby born to undocumented parents in Kentucky will not be a citizen. This is madness.

She also invokes LGBTQ groups (at 26m) in an unhinged rant attacking Mamdani for the phrase "intifada" (a phrase which he has never used!) I am really disgusted by @kirstengillibrand.bsky.social's statements. I urge you all to call her and ask her to retract them and apologize. ☎️: (202) 224-4451
