for your billionaire consideration

The fight for trans rights IS the fight for immigrant rights. In our latest blog, Lambda Legal Senior Attorney Whit Washington breaks down the history of our communities shared struggles & why solidarity is our power. lambdalegal.org/blogs/us_202... @whitwashingtonesq.bsky.social

Increasingly convinced this is the last moment to arrest our slide into authoritarianism. But we are also the same country that responds to kids being killed in schools and bar-goers being mowed down with assault weapons with silence, so I’m not holding my breath.

This is not journalism. This is stenography for power.

Orval Faubus wielded the Arkansas National Guard to defy Brown v. Board and oppose a lawful court decision demanding desegregation of schools in the state. real fuckin orderly. cannot believe she gets to run my state of birth, my home, without any regard for its history

life came full circle today, as a former evangelical. Spoke w/the Guardian on the SBC and their usual shenanigans

the sumner-posting will continue until "politician uses platform to push morally correct but politically unpopular ideas into the mainstream" stops feeling like an impossible novelty

As anti-trans laws surge across the U.S., @rewirenewsgroup.com wants to hear how this legislation is affecting young people nationwide. We’re launching a new series called TransMissives, featuring correspondence from trans children and teens. Submit here: docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1F...

I do not understand the lingo young trans women use and it scares the shit out of me

Just your regular reminder that tear gas (or CS gas) is dangerous, deployed far too casually, and has real, adverse impacts on fetal and maternal health that shouldn't be underestimated. Here's a convo I had with the @ohiocapitaljournal.com back in June of 2020:

Posting this 1967 Birmingham News editorial cartoon for all the people who don't realize that this is how MLK was viewed by a big chunk of white America.

My strong instinct is that Trump's threats against Americans' first amendment right to peaceably assemble is going to massively juice attendance at Saturday's protests. www.nokings.org

Our national soul is sick. Festering. Jesus didn’t task us to only care for our neighbors when it’s convenient.

Deploying active duty military on American soil against Americans is a stain I don't know how we recover from.

May we all be so brave in the face of intimidation.

ok but Miller IS a world-class hater. That's just good journalism.

>get rid of woke >6 months later troops are being sent into American cities This is bullshit. Bring pronouns back already

is this a fucking game to some people?!

I am at a loss for words. I am so sad and angry that this is where we are at.

NPR once did a fantastic podcast series about transgender youth called "All The Only Ones." Each episode profiles one young trans person living today and one from the past. This episode features an interview with a Johns Hopkins doctor who treated trans youth back in the 1970s.

Hard to believe this is meant to do anything other than poke a thumb in the eye of queer folks during the biggest weekend of Pride. Dupont Circle is part of our history and our legacy.

Weird they're showing Swan Lake on Fox right now

in honor of scotus decision season, i am pulling out my all-time favorite tiktok bc this is where we're all at rn

other fond jorge elorza memories since this got some play this morning: sharing a stage at the dark lady block party at RI Pride & seeing that man just totally rile up a huge crowd of queer folk WHILE WEARING AGGRESSIVELY HETEROSEXUAL CARGO SHORTS

congresswoman mcbride from the top rope

WE TOLD YOU NOT TO TOUCH OUR BOAT. NOW LOOK WHAT HAPPENED.

IAD fans still undefeated 💪

you just love to see it

Regardless of which leopard eats the other leopard’s face I just hope both teams have fun out there.

More than $30K for trans rights. Can we get a W in the chat

The New York Times is back at it again (derogatory). An upcoming New York Times podcast on trans youth healthcare used audio from the mother of a trans girl against her will, after producers caught a vulnerable moment on tape.

I am manic-posting before the SCOTUS opinions at 10a so I will just say that the substance is an allegory about trans women and the struggle we have with the remains of who we used to be and how not letting go of internalized transphobia turns you into a bloody boob monster I am not taking any qs
