If you're a lawyer who'd like to volunteer, here's the link workerslegaldefense.org/lawyers

For the next ten minutes lol until the entire global order aligns against us with China as the hegemon

Hasn’t even watched love on the spectrum smdh

I just think it’s interesting that they are such big fans of lots of process!

Please repeat over and over: ā€œBending to the whims of a bully will not end his cruelty. It will only embolden him. The response to authoritarianism isn’t acquiescence. Bullies respond to one thing, and one thing only: a punch in the face.ā€ —Gov. JB Pritzker

Your local org needs money. If you want to volunteer and you’re committed and reliable and know what you’re doing, great. If you want to volunteer and you don’t know what you’re doing, host a fundraiser.

Honestly I'm glad they picked Harvard to try out this novel "we're mad" legal theory of revoking tax-exempt status, given its infinite resources, deep network of powerful alumni, and law school attended by 142 sitting federal judges. Good luck! 🫔

Ouch! Lead reporter here has done great reporting on the DOGE takeover of IRS. But major journalism fail from the Post editors here right out of the gate on the Harvard tax exempt story. This isn't a "no proof" situation, guys. www.washingtonpost.com/business/202...

Lmao ok.

James Comey should have to do it to pay for his sins.

Judge Boasberg carefully lays out how the Government continually lied, obfuscated, and defied the decisions of the Court. The best part might be how he notes their "states secret" argument was made moot by the various videos etc posted by the Admin bragging about the flights.

Yes surely the fourth circuit will break from SCOTUS on this issue šŸ™„ sanction them for frivolous appeals.

I think the biggest deal here is admin lawyers increasingly have to bet their bars won’t disbar them for criminal convictions (even if ultimately pardoned)

Does she want to say that in a sworn statement?

incredible how the markets tanked because powell said "yeah the economy is going to enter a supply side recession" BRO EVEN MY GRANDMOTHER KNEW THAT

It’s just me but if I had big bet-the-company dilemmas instead of going with Paul Weiss or Skadden I might choose a firm with lawyers who understand concepts like cause and effect, object permanence, and stated intent

Gosh, very difficult legal question, is it "facilitating" someone's return when you're paying another country to detain them?

He’s a lawyer first. And a good one.

Literally every lawyer crawling over each other to be the special prosecutor.

There’s a certain number of people who say things like ā€œyou all really need to stop saying things like ā€˜that’s illegal’ or ā€˜that’s unconstitutionalā€™ā€ and no, I won’t stop saying that. Because I’m not going to cede the point that we have the moral, legal, and pragmatic high ground.

The argument in the text is they can’t accomplish their policy goal while following due process (and therefore the standards should flex). That’s a general purpose argument for fascism, not one specific to immigration.

🚨BREAKING: Judge finds flying migrants to El Salvador after orders not to "demonstrate a willful disregard for its Order, sufficient for the Court to conclude that probable cause exists to find the Government in criminal contempt." Visit www.democracydocket.com for full details and analysis.

Too weak and wimpy to put his name behind this — opinion disregarded.

This is because ā€œprogressiveā€ is becoming identified with the ā€œfightā€ caucus, which should frankly terrify centrist democrats.

Oh no. Our libs buying random lib stuff store. It’s broken.

ā€œOh noā€

The guy just yelling IM PISSED is just…100/10

From Vance's tweets to Miller's and Homan's TV hits, don't we see a touch of desperation? Immigration is supposedly their go-to issue. But their policies are cruel and self-destructive, and they're losing control of the issue politically. Panic's in the air at the White House.

I checked in on Candace Owens for fun, and in case anyone’s wondering, she’s invented a Jewish Rasputin who puts all the ā€œcombating antisemitismā€ talking points on his desk to advance Israel’s interests and crush free speech. Trump is still ok tho. But he’s surrounded by pesky Jews.

There's no way around it: if we care about law and order we have to let the government commit crimes

Who tf is this guy’s audience anymore

He’s not asking for my proposal in good faith, but it’s for Congress to pass comprehensive immigration reform. Ya know. Like the Constitution contemplates. For example.

The founding fathers, who thought ambition would counter ambition, failed to consider that a man could genuinely aspire to be a sniveling baby bitch.

It's insane how congestion pricing in NYC has been just about *the* most unambiguously successful new policy implemented in my lifetime and still all the dumbest people in government want to get rid of it

This is so fucked up. ICE agents in Massachusetts smashed the window of a car to grab a Guatemalan guy who was with his wife. They were waiting for their lawyer to arrive because he has a pending asylum case. Story via @wcvb5.bsky.social: www.wcvb.com/article/ice-...

Okay, cards on the table: I refuse to be concerned. Because I believe, in the pit of my soul, that being concerned creates a permission structure not to express one’s views to protect oneself. I don’t think we’re there, but even if I did, I wouldn’t act like it.
