The argument in the text is they can’t accomplish their policy goal while following due process (and therefore the standards should flex). That’s a general purpose argument for fascism, not one specific to immigration.

The VP seems to suggest a suspension of due process rights to tackle illegal immigration. This would be in line with El Salvador’s Bukele but not the U.S. Supreme Court

Also, two wrongs will never make a right.
Can we start saying aloud what this is yet? They are.
If you want to change the constitution, let’s have a constitutional convention then.

The truth is, their grotesque activities are a lot more expensive and inconvenient than due process.
you're gaslighlighting, or clearly don't understand what "rights", "law" and a "constitution" mean.
No one went to jail for the Reagan or Bush '43 crime spree, no one will go to jail this time unless Americans decide to hold some very public tribunals.
So, when do we start breaking shit and realize this has to be an actual fight?
Like now, or we’re gonna wait until in we’re in line for the camp bound train?
And where did human trafficking come from? Do you mean the government trafficking Garcia?
They're in prison without a conviction or a term to serve.
Or as the Holocaust Museum defines it, they're in a concentration camp.
JD Vance Now: “And I fucking LOVE our American Hitler!”
I'm not American. And I really don't want this on my Bingo card. But there it is.
20 million undocumented people did NOT enter the US and stay during Biden's presidency. That's nearly double the number of undocumented people in the country. 20 million may have been INTERCEPTED at the border, but that is not the same thing as being *in* the US
And if his claim that *many* of them are violent criminals is true, why aren't they rounding them up? Why are they instead targeting workplaces, where they

Do people not hear that? At all?
Frankly... Germany *didn't* vote for Hitler. (He had 23% of the vote. It was Hindenburg making him Chancellor that started all this.)
MAGA? Actually voted for Trump.
TWICE.
But I will call it "MAGA", not "Americans".
March 1932: 37%
November 1932: 33%
March 1933: 44%
November 1933: 92%
(The 1933 elections were not free or fair - March 1933 were the last multi-party elections)
I know that’s a little apples-to-oranges but I think it helps show how it’s hard to identify when to “blame” a population for electing their leaders
Democracy is messy and imperfect
Also, Hitler didn't get the majority. Trump (allegedly...) did.
"He knows those computers better than anybody. All those computers. Those vote-counting computers," Trump told the crowd. "And we ended up winning Pennsylvania like in a landslide."
Blame the butterfingers and not checking and correcting.
Cmon man. This is just an ahistorical take. Hindenburg was the last hurdle to Hitler’s chancellorship because he hated the dude, but it wasn’t like Hindenburg picked him out and was like “you! I’m making you chancellor now”
If you think the only way to get mass public housing is, say, deporting landlords, I would ask you to consider there could be other ways
Fascists:
“DAMN YOU CHECKS AND BALANCES, YOU WOKE BASTARDS !!!!!”
Everyone:
May as well be realistic.
B. If he did, they aren't illegal. They're here legally.
C. If you have 1 rule for cits & another for non-cits, how do you prove you have a non-citizen w/o due process?
D. If they aim to get rid of ILLEGAL migrants, why are they revoking visas of LEGAL migrants?
And…I really wish I were still teaching, because these folks are providing an amazing number of logical fallacies.
This is blatant. They are doing this because they want the message to be clear: we aren't doing shit because we don't want to, and you better shut up or you'll end up there too.
Reminder: We aren't talking about inanimate object here.
Smells like fascism and totalitarianism to me.
Anyone who says otherwise is advocating lawlessness.
When an official advocates otherwise in public, and is not corrected by a superior,
You have to wonder..
This is a crime against humanity and should NOT be treated as an internal American problem
Digital coup keeps coup-ing…
And those things you listed as what makes America exceptional? They exist elsewhere.
American Exceptionalism is part of what got you where you are now.
Administration goals, “public interest,” budgets, etc. are all secondary.
This is like arguing that you don’t need your keys to go to the store because driving your car to Canada requires a lot more gas.
He's just not realizing you can't do exactly that. Bukele had a gang problem, the leader of the US regime has only confused people in Colorado by announcing to them they have a gang problem.
Fascism is already here.
So, since we all like, totally know trump/vance/hegseth/musk/rfk/etc are guilty of megabighuge crimes, can we just skip all the legal crap and ship them off already?
We made the laws to protect the citizens from the system and the system from bad faith citizens. Trump is using both against the laws of our nation.
he clearly doesn't understand his job...

They might want to consider that.
Indeed, what is the mechanism for the populace to handle being defrauded of their vote by a con artist backed by a dictator?
THAT's what we might want to establish some new standards on, definitely NOT the fecking Bill of Rights!
What about just hiring more judges, which was in the border bill republicans refused to pass?
He y'all can go rule over penguin island
