Great first session of the Artificial Intelligence Parliamentary Scheme run by Google and Demos. I'm particularly interested in AI's potential to make the civil service more efficient and free up staff time in the NHS, but we must make sure we equip people with the right skills too.

An encouraging meeting with the Rail Minister about bringing international rail services back to Kent. He understands how important it is to residents, businesses, and tourism. His department is already working hard on removing barriers to other operators providing the service if Eurostar won't.

In Parliament today I highlighted the huge potential for Rochester and Strood to become one of the Government's Artificial Intelligence Growth Zones.
