Sunday’s front pages in the UK. “We’ve got your back” Leadership.

Proud to see this from our PM. www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/cn...

I am concerned about the proposals to not seek to replace the Lower Stoke Post Office once the postmaster retires later this year. I am seeking a meeting with Post Office Limited to discuss their decision and welcome constituents views on how this closure will affect you.

Delighted to meet the AI and Digital Minister Feryal Clark MP to discuss the strong case Medway has to be one of the new AI Growth Zones. An AI Growth Zone has the potential to turbo-charge growth and unleash Rochester and Strood's huge economic potential.

St Helen’s Church of England Primary School in Cliffe is among the first to introduce a free government-funded breakfast club, saving parents money and preparing children for learning. This investment in children aims to remove barriers to achievement.

More than 900,000 young people in the UK (1 in 8!) are now not in education, employment, or training (NEET). This is unacceptable and needs to change. I am determined to help drive forward change so that all young people get the best start in life and can fulfil their potential.

I was delighted to visit Celessence Technologies to find out more about this successful business operating from the Medway City Estate. They are a fantastic local SME success story as the leading supplier of micro-encapsulation technologies to the textiles, toy and print industries across the world!

Out with @rslabour.bsky.social members supporting Labour friends in Chatham and Aylesford 🌹 #labourdoorstep #makeworkpay #nationalcampaignweekend

Great first session of the Artificial Intelligence Parliamentary Scheme run by Google and Demos. I'm particularly interested in AI's potential to make the civil service more efficient and free up staff time in the NHS, but we must make sure we equip people with the right skills too.

An encouraging meeting with the Rail Minister about bringing international rail services back to Kent. He understands how important it is to residents, businesses, and tourism. His department is already working hard on removing barriers to other operators providing the service if Eurostar won't.

In Parliament today I highlighted the huge potential for Rochester and Strood to become one of the Government's Artificial Intelligence Growth Zones. I'm delighted the AI Minister has agreed to meet me to discuss this further. It would help kick start more investment, create jobs, and boost growth.

Yesterday I met with Jonathan Wallcroft from FareShare to discuss their fantastic work addressing food poverty and eliminating food waste. We discussed how government can help to ensure more surplus food can be used to support those in need. #foodwaste

Today I questioned the Minister for the Cabinet Office for EU Relations & the Constitution at the PACAC Select Committee. I asked about leveraging our service-based economy (which makes up 80% of our economy) for economic growth in a UK-EU reset & ensuring the Govt delivers on House of Lords Reform.

A pleasure to Chair the Policy Liaison Group for Regeneration & Growth Roundtable on what devolution means for regeneration projects across the country. There are certainly lots of challenges and opportunities to consider ahead of devolution coming to Medway and Kent in a later phase.

Thank you to Paul Bentley, CEO of NHS Kent and Medway, for meeting me to discuss concerns about the impact the potential closure of High Parks Medical Practice in Higham could have on GP practices on the Hoo Peninsula.

I attended the Canterbury Christchurch University Graduation Ceremony at Rochester Cathedral with Deputy Mayor Cllr Douglas Hamandishe and Cabinet Member Cllr Adam Price. It was a pleasure to meet Medway-born TV Presenter Dr Ranj Singh, who received an honorary doctorate. Congratulations to all!

Great to celebrate the success of ASDA's Cashpot for Schools in Parliament which raised nearly £5.8m for more than 22,000 schools across the UK last year – including £13,691 shared between 33 primary schools across Rochester and Strood.

The last few hours before polls close in the Rochester East and Warren Wood by-election, and we're getting the Labour vote out even in torrential rain 🗳🌹

🌈 We've been speaking to voters across Rochester East and Warren Wood on behalf of @carolynjhart.bsky.social and Robert Wyatt today as polls are open until 10pm🌹 This will be close 🪪 Make sure your voice is heard & remember your voter ID

A fantastic ground breaking celebration for the Docking Station this week, a new digital creative hub at the Chatham Historic Dockyard led by the University of Kent in partnership with Medway Council. Creative industries will play a big role in driving growth in our local economy.

I was delighted to attend the opening of the new park at Chatham Waters last week. It's a beautiful space that will benefit residents. I want more community-focused areas like this in my constituency, as everyone should have access to green spaces for socializing and fostering community spirit.

Great morning getting the Labour vote out in Rochester East and Warren Wood this morning 🗳🌹

🗳️ Today is election day in Rochester East & Warren Wood 🏫 Polling stations are open until 10pm 🪪 Remember Photo ID 🌹Use both votes for Labour & Co-operative - HART & WYATT🌹

I'm concerned about the impact of the Highparks Medical Practice closure in Higham on other practices in Cliffe, Cliffe Woods, and Wainscott in my constituency. I'll be meeting the NHS Kent and Medway Chief Executive soon to discuss the closure and ways to improve GP access on the Hoo Peninsula.

I'm disappointed that Medway and Kent were not chosen for the government's devolution priority programme today. However, this doesn't change my ambition for Rochester and Strood and our wider region to benefit from devolution soon.

Today I met Gwendoline Cazenave, CEO of #Eurostar, to press the case alongside other local MPs for the reintroduction of international train services from Ebbsfleet and Ashford International stations. I highlighted how critical it was for the visitor and business economy for growth

🌹 This weekend we've been speaking to hundreds of Rochester East and Warren Wood residents about how @carolynjhart.bsky.social and Robert Wyatt will continue to deliver for local residents🌹 🗳️ Use both votes for Labour on this Thursday 🪪 Remember your photo ID 📮 Post any Postal votes today

The Insurance and Financial Services APPG that I co-chair were delighted that Emma Reynolds, Economic Secretary to the Treasury and City Minister was able join our meeting this week.

Great meeting to see how we can work together to improve health services on the Strood side of the river. Thanks to Raj, Hayley and colleagues, and Cllr Dan McDonald who chairs the Health and Social Care scrutiny committee on Medway Council for such a productive discussion.

Earlier this month I was pleased to be able to sponsor a @pocklington.bsky.social drop in event in parliament to showcase the #AccessForAll campaign, pushing for improved access to assistive technology and accessibility by design in Further Education colleges.

I was pleased to host the Link and Cash Access UK parliamentary reception last week and introduce our fantastic new Economic Secretary to the Treasury Emma Reynolds MP.

Lovely to meet Adele and the team at Umbrella Training at Chatham Maritime. What a fantastic women-led business, specialising in the hospitality sector that is such an important driver of economic growth.

Thank you to Segen for showing me their fantastic training academy and warehouse on the Kingsnorth Estate. If we are to meet our climate change targets and build the eco-friendly homes our country needs, we must equip our workforce with green skills and Segen is leading the way.

I was delighted to recently visit BritNed on the Isle of Grain in my constituency to discuss Nautilus, a new planned new subsea electricity connector between the UK and Belgium.

Thank you to @mhealthuk.bsky.social for hosting such an engaging roundtable with the Employment Minister @allymcgovern.bsky.social.
