Fun and educational CISNY meeting last night @weillcornell.bsky.social with invited speakers Drs. @rydhwanah.bsky.social and Sandeep Hedgire, who, respectively, discussed LDCT findings beyond lung nodules and cardiac masses! And shoutout to MCs Drs. Shira Steinberger & Alan Legasto!🫀🫁

Medicaid is a lifeline for people with disabilities and seniors, yet Congress is getting ready to cut billions of dollars in Medicaid funding. If these cuts are approved, millions of people will lose access to crucial care.

Despite reports to the contrary there is still no movement on the #NIH federal register. No cursory notices = no study sections or councils can meet = no new or renewed funding. www.federalregister.gov/agencies/nat...

Not sure I’ll ever get used to being in front of a 🎥, but as we near the end of our pilot, I’m excited to share this video, providing a sneak peek into what has been a true labor of love! Publications forthcoming in March & summer 2025! #academia #lungcancerscreening #LCSM 🫁 vimeo.com/1040073302

CCTA has many advantages over SPECT MPI as a first-line test for stable chest pain: 🎯 Better diagnostic performance 💰 Lower overall costs ☢️ Lower radiation dose 🌱 Lower energy use So why do many jurisdictions in Canada still prioritize MPI over CCTA as the first-line test? #RadSky #YesCCT

URGENT: The House is set to vote tomorrow on whether to advance $880 billion in cuts to Medicaid — eviscerating essential programs that provide lifesaving services for people with disabilities, children, seniors, and more. Tell your representative now: Don't cut Medicaid.

Since federal health information is getting harder to come by, I thought I'd share this new resource. Cornell's College of Veterinary Medicine launched an online Avian Flu Resource Center--a one-stop clearinghouse for trustworthy information on bird flu. www.vet.cornell.edu/highly-patho...

Consortium for Cancer Implementation Science (CCIS) annual meeting, scheduled for next Weds-Fri, was postponed (unclear until when… maybe indefinitely). It’s an NIH-sponsored mtg and the first imp sci mtg at which I was presenting my work. I was really looking forward to it 😔

Finally made it to #NYC 🗽🍎 It’s SO 🥶 here!! I’m wearing a full cashmere sweatsuit, shearling vest, and a fur coat and I’m still cold!! (Btw, the vest is vintage and the coat is lined with fur on the inside rather than leather, so no animals were hurt 🙂)

Because Donald Trump is flying into Miami International Airport for another weekend of golf, the airport just shut down (as we were about to take off) and we’re all stuck here for the next 3 hours. It would be nice if he cared about anyone else other than himself.

Excited to be going back to NYC this morning! Will be nice to work on-site in the hospital and attend in-person meetings the next couple weeks. I woke up early to do the stair stepper (bc I’m obsessed 😆), and caught one last sunrise before I left 🌅 Have a great day, everyone!

If you wanted to cut waste, fraud, and abuse, you would empower the inspectors general. If you wanted more waste, fraud, and abuse, you would fire them.

Incompetence in Washington puts every American at risk, no matter how you voted. No one should be happy that the DOGE team - the same folks who randomly published classified U.S. security information online today - wants access to your bank account & Social Security numbers.
