Today I honor the late great Congressman John R. Lewis on what would have been his 85th birthday. If folks know about my clapbacks, understand this is my version of “Good Trouble.”

Wait, which part of his “business acumen” was so attractive? His bankrupted casinos? His fraudulent “university”? How he routinely cheated contractors, many of whom were small businesses, out of what they were owed? I just can’t with the stupidity and blind loyalty.

Anderson Cooper does a better job than most with respect to combatting the rampant misinformation out there, yet even he still isn’t being strong enough in laying out hard truths and combatting the lies Trump loves.

I’m in a Trump bar (which, trust me, I didn’t realize at first), and Canada just won the hockey game. It’s glorious.

In future generations, when your children and grandchildren look back on this moment, they are not going to ask about the price of eggs. They are going to ask you what you did. Not what you felt. Not what you paid. But what you did. And I want to be able to say I did everything I possibly could.

This is why I really have no time for the "behind the scenes, Republicans say yadda yadda yadda." This is a public-facing business. If you tell a reporter you don't want to vote "aye" then you vote "aye," who cares?

Enraging: Mary Gingles reported her husband’s threats, break-ins and harassment to local sheriffs, who took her reports but did nothing. On Feb. 16th, her husband killed her, her father and the neighbor she ran to for help — while their 4yo daughter watched. www.sun-sentinel.com/2025/02/19/s...

In a normal world this ridiculous train of thought would inspire calls for a psych eval.

Our grandparents and great-grandparents, who fought against and defeated the original axis of evil, are turning over in their graves. Congrats to the idiots who disrespected their memory to a profound, disgusting degree by voting for the worst human being in American history.

Blumenthal: "What world is he living in? It is not only contrary to the facts and the truth but utterly despicable. A disgusting betrayal of a country that has bled and fought and died for freedom ... the president's surrender is pathetic and weak."

Cool, Kathy, you’ve finally found your spine. Now get rid of Adams.

Who’s going to tell the felon that being likened to Neville Chamberlain isn’t a compliment?

I lost my job at the National Science Foundation yesterday, along with 167 of my colleagues, including some dear friends. This was the best job I've ever had, and I thought it would be my last. The PI community has been sympathetic and supportive, without exception. I will miss working for you.

About 60 percent of us knew; it’s the other 40 percent that screwed us. As well as part of that 60 percent; pretty sure I’m more angry with them, because they really were supposed to know better than the cultists.

“In the end, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends." As the foundation of #democracy in America crumbles and the vulnerable are under attack from a rogue administration, we, the people, are asking our former presidents to "Say something!”

I’m George Takei and I approve of this message.

“We, the opposition, are the majority. Take heart,” says Hamilton Nolan. “How do regimes manage to impose minority rule on enormous populations? By getting the majority to give up. Don’t do that.” [hamiltonnolan.com]

I feel this intensely. Even as this platform is much more welcoming than the bad Nazi place, I still have to walk away from it for hours at a time for my own sanity. And where are the leaders who should be on Bluesky? Don’t they understand this audience or care to engage on how we can fight back?

Is it fair to say that right now AOC is the leader of the Democratic Party? She seems to be like one of six people who doesn’t spend the day paralyzed by fear and pissing herself.

It bears repeating: Kamala Harris would have put qualified competent people in charge of government agencies.

Oh FFS. Someone needs to tell Jack about some stuff that happened in 1929 and 1933 also.

Governor Hochul, how much more do New Yorkers have to take with this?
