Maybe you should have listened to the political scientists & others pleading for you to pay attention & not spent all of last spring doing the tired bit about how there was no difference at all between the two doddering old men?

“I gotta tell you, I did not think [Trump] would get this authoritarian this fast,” Jon Stewart admitted.

Probably too much to ask for.
Since then - nah.
All of us who voted for the Indian Black lady. We fucking knew!
*I* knew that Trump was going to do a fire sale. So making a broad appeal made sense to me, sitting in safety in Finland.
What I didn't 1/?
e.g. "he'll do more to hurt trans and brown 2/?
"Cheeto Messiah is going to literally, zero hyperbole, destroy the country"
So the idea of "we got to get everyone on board to stop this shizzle" just made no sense to people since they 3/4?
Shit, they abandoned calling Trump "weird" in a matter of days.
(that's rhetorical, we know exactly why that is.)
You’d have won more GOP over by fighting them than fawning over them. But fighting scared the donors.
Not choosing which GOP leader you’d prefer to surrender to and campaigning with them.
That’s how political legacies work. Live by the nepotism, die by the nepotism.
Also, you know I didn’t. The bad faith internal trolling like this is the real subject of this conversation.
Blaming Jon Stewart is just silly.
You did this.
And the deal was if everyone just shut up about he’d win. And did he win?
Moral and actual failures all.
There are some voters who did that, yes.
The way to deal w that was for Biden not to alienate them in the first place.
Voters aren't all rational. Need to win regardless.
Do people really think that if Stewart spent more time saying "Trump is bad" it would have changed anything?
Most voters thought he was too old. They felt they were being lied to when the admin presented him as competent.
And he couldn't sell his policies, not even the good ones.
But that is mostly out of control of Dem pols or people like us.
I like to separate things we can control from the other. Biden running for a second term was an own goal.
What I didn't expect was all the civil institutions bending the knee this quickly
A convicted felon, insurrectionist, racist, sexist pitiful man over a woman who believes in our country and the constitution. #misogynysucks

He said that if Dems were serious about the threat Trump posed, then they should have been serious about Biden's weakness.
That if the party meant everything they said about the stakes, they should back it up with actions.
Turns out he was right about that one..
Thanks.
He was not fit for a campaign with democracy on the line. That's the only issue that mattered.
FWIW I thought he was our only choice at the time too, but that's in part Biden's fault for putting us there.
Hubris.
From the article: The Reuters/Ipsos poll, conducted nationwide & online, collected responses from 1,019 U.S. adults, including 856 registered voters. It had a margin of error of 3.2 percentage points for all respondents and 3.5 percentage points for registered voters.

The Daily Show just pulled the snarky same on both sides shit, that sounds cool at a freshman party but sucks for a grown up broadcasting.
I don’t watch Jimmy Fallon so can’t pass judgement. (I just don’t think he’s funny.)
and he relentlessly warned us of how shitty all Repubs are.
try blaming trump?
-respectfully
I'll let you google the vid, but Jon spent quite a bit of time railing about Biden's age and equating the two candidates.
I totally blame Trump, but I'm not forgiving anyone that helped Trump by attacking dems for stupid $hit.
