Seriously, is this the best the Democrats can do? Both parties are self-immolating. Past time for a complete political renewal.

This nameless, faceless, display of authority is right out of the fascist playbook. If anyone in uniform addresses you, demand ID and the reason they stopped you. Get your phone & start recording. We're entering a stage where the Trump admin will try to detain anyone not giving fealty.

A private institution should not have to be "in sync" with any one administration. Indeed, 1A protects the right to disagree, even vigorously, with an administration or government policy or action. Why is this so hard to understand for some?

Trump has long admired Putin. That itself is disturbing. He craves the near absolute power Putin wields. This admiration explains Trump's reluctance to forcefully act against the Russian leader.

I worked in public media for over 40 years. Stations had to pay to carry Sesame Street and like programs, but the production company shared almost no revenue from their merch or live performances with stations. We gave them the exposure that made them rich.

And PubTV stations suffered a loss of membership dollars due to it. The kids line-up was the main revenue stream for PBS stations 20 yrs ago. Not now, b/c of the advent of kids shows on streaming svcs. If a family is paying $50/mth for kids streaming, they won't even see a fundraising plea on PBS.

That makes no sense. Most of public TV's revenue come from voluntary contributions from viewers. When viewership drops so does revenue. Only about 10% of viewers contribute to PubTV, those are the folks with income enough to do so. But those are also the people who can afford streaming services.

Yes, but the viewers who could afford a membership to their local PBS station now won't be watching it there. Those dollars make it possible for public TV programming to be free for all.

Another nail in the coffin of PBS and public TV. Sesame Workshop couldn't resist the lure of greed.
I will have lived from the creation of public TV through its rise to the heights of great programs like The Civil War to its demise, crushed out by American society. When and where did we go wrong?

Another nail in the coffin of PBS. Remember not everyone can afford a streaming service. Viewers give to their public stations so that all may benefit especially those that can't afford to.

"Disparaging"? There are multiple pictures of Trump with Epstein as well as allegations from victims naming Trump as a participant.

What did he think was going to happen when his court gave a career criminal immunity? I thought SC justices were the smartest kids in the room.

Dreadful and disheartening. NYU is a premiere school. What did these students expect? What kind of values did their parents instill in their kids? It sounds as if these students want the diploma but not knowledge.

More evidence that Trump wants to help the rich avoid taxes. Here's a 2nd article on the deregulation:
