Hope all goes well.

In heat (and it's ~28°C in the shade here in the UK) I love going out in a hammock in the morning or evening, like 7am or 9pm. Lovely... Enjoy. Now... Can i afford a hammock and mounts...

Beans, beans, they're good for your heart; the more you eat, the more you fart! Beans on toast, in a fried breakfast, on jacket spuds, with eggs... So many ways to enjoy. Throw on some HP, and it's even better.

Slap a fried egg on there and you're on!

Sending the best vibes I can as an internet stranger. Commiserations on your loss... And not being there. I hope you find your own way to say goodbye

That's on a 1Mib 286 12.5Mhz beast ;-) bought in '91, compromised on CPU and RAM... To get a CD drive!

See... I liked setting up IRQs, getting EMM386 and HIMEM.SYS set up, DOS=HIGH,UMB, configuring soundcards and CD's, having 608kb low mem free so F1GP or Wing Commander will run... Because it all made sense. You could just learn it, follow the logic, and do it. This new stuff... It's not logical.

Now, it's so bad I've given up. And yes, I've turned off, disabled and otherwise circumvented as much Gemini crap as I can. It still sucks, just marginally less than when an LLM was doing it.

"send a message to X by APP" should ask me what to send and then send it, the way it did 10 YEARS AGO, and not try and have a conversation with me about the subject matter of the message. This worked, acceptably, and you could talk to your phone in the car to do stuff 80% of the time.

I've been there too, along with DOS and Linux. This. Is. Worse. They, at least, had rules. This, AI, just randomly fucks up. At least before once you learned the rules, it would mostly work (except printers, because fuck printers). NOW IT'S ALL PRINTERS!

This is one of the reasons here in the UK I'm looking to get a smart charger. Octopus Energy ties in to the grid, and can influence the amperage based on factors like how much usage there is or if slack needs picking up... You can even do grid return, but I don't think it's active yet (soon™)

Now let's start talking about how we make them better as a team. But people will then just spend time griping rather than fixing; which is so weird as I'm solution-oriented... Problem identified, how do we fix it in the time/dev-power/cost budget we've got

This is so common these days. I see it all the time in my job (software engineer) when you propose multiple options, all of them compromises in some way because there's no good way to do it, and the reactions are basically, "none of them are good enough". Yes, I know. These are the best we've got

Huge Zach-like fan here, so it's wishlisted.

Huge SpaceChem/Infinifactory vibes here. Will you be including a solitaire?

Brings back memories... My internet was always to slow to get into URU in the early days, and I never got into any of the relaunches... Just stuck with the offline gameplay and the mainline games

www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2004/0... There are some people who need external social pressure to act normally and nicely. Take that away, by making them theoretically anonymous, or the penalties negligible (ban me? Meh, I'll go elsewhere/use it as ammo) and they have no reason to be nice.

I can't replace, I can't take the place, but I can say - you're seen, you're strong, be proud because you matter.

As a Dad of an 8 year old daughter who both drives me up the wall and makes me so proud I could explode (often at the same time)... I am so sorry, and please accept a virtual "dad" nod of approval/pat on the back/hug (whichever is best for you).

Oh hell yeah. Brilliant films, great watch.

For those interested, the custard in question, demonstrating it's real, good, thick custard.

That's a comedy, not horror. Doesn't downplay it in any way, but the Artax scene in neverending story is more horrific and lasting. Awesome movie, hope you guys enjoy it!

Listen up, you primitive screw heads... This... Is my boomstick.

I just realized, after someone liked this message, that this is a very regional, environment-specific comment that could easily be taken out of context. The lovely cat, who I enjoyed seeing, is in a box of "who gives a crap"-brand toilet paper. Hence me trying for a pun on that.

Meh. Who gives a crap.

Eh... How about a complete lack of ability to finish a game I start because I butterfly off to something else?

*Cough*LeagueOfLegends*cough* But, yeah. Stereotyping sucks. Generally. Unless it's about a Nazi, then they suck. But, generally, stereotyping sucks.

If you're in the UK, do so, report immediately, and any kickback you'll be covered by environmental health... (Assuming this is a job situation). Mold is a MASSIVE inhaled health risk, leading to many nasty infections.

Bazzite spin-off, yep :-D

Huh... Time to run `ujust update` I guess. I do it most days. I run Linux, you know. It doesn't whinge so much. Of course, for work, I'm still at the mercy of Microsoft. One day... One day...

Funny thing is... Sand down the ridges, spray it sort-of the right colour (nobody is looking for perfection, it'd stand out too much against the original), and it'd just blend in and you'd not notice it.

Sez you, I'm not made of Adams. I'm made of little... You know... That star trek bartender dude with the funny ears... Yeah... So there.
comment in response to post
We have 5 decades of games. Sure, you have to have a specific mentality to play some of the older stuff and appreciate it, but there's at least 2 decades of "modern" stuff... Stop whining and go and enjoy yourself, isn't that what a hobby is meant to be about?

I kind of follow, but I stay out of the conversations, just lurk. Been gaming since the BBC-B era (Chuckie Egg and Repton 3 ftw)... Honestly I constantly feel like we're in a golden age, and people keep screaming like we're in a drought.
comment in response to post
I'm with you in that, but it's often a pretty controversial take on gaming... Like, "what do you mean, you won't dump on/hyper praise mega game N"?
comment in response to post
I'm glad... I don't know you from Adam or Eve, but I'm seriously glad. THIS should make news, not the evil bullshit normally posted. "A team does the right thing".

If you're at 16 params, you need TDD and therapy. And some refactoring... Probably a capture class.

That is such a thing I'd do
