This is a great explanation of the science that really points out the deeply flawed logic of the bans.

California state government doesn't pay federal income taxes, so Newsom has no tax money to withhold from the feds. If he wants this to work, he will have to convince individuals and businesses located there to not pay their federal taxes.

Right charges, wrong defendant. Trump and his goons should be charged with human trafficking.

"No one really wanted him here," yet did they act on that sentiment?

During my first one, I announced loudly to my doctor "I think we are done here" and started swatting his hands away. It must have been entered in mychart, as I was knocked out cold for the next one.

Hoover would fit the bill as a general in that army. While in prison, he ran the largest gang in the country, brought in over $100million in annual drug sales in the '90s. He disavowed the Gangster Disciples then, just like he does now.

This is so true! When my mom was approaching 100 a couple of years ago, she marveled how she had gone from being sort of a centrist to a flaming liberal, without a shift in her values, or a change her opinion.

My husband worked at Farrell's long before we met. The first time he saw me scoop ice cream, I got quite the lecture on how lousy my technique was. So He's been scooping my ice cream now for 42 years.

He also commuted the federal sentence of Larry Hoover, founder and head of the Gangster Disciples. He ran the gang from prison for at least 20 years, raking in over $100 million a year in drugs sales in the early '90s. He still must serve time on state charges. chicago.suntimes.com/the-watchdog...

Seems like she also framed herself - to be named in an enormous defamation suit.

I saw my parents do so many acts of kindness during my lifetime, but it was only after they passed away (and I had to sort through the paperwork)that I saw the magnitude of their financial generosity. The performative acts of kindness on social media are the antithesis of how I was raised.

On 5/28 Trump pardoned Larry Hoover, founder of the Gangster Disciples, the largest Illinois gang in history. After a murder conviction in 1973, Hoover ran the gang from prison. Under his rule, the gang brought in over $100million annually in drug sales in the 90s.

This isn't just Musk's legacy. The man that appointed him, and the senators and house members that refused to stand up to this travesty, are equally responsible. Any candidates willing to run as Republicans are saying they agree with this.

Columbia University is in NYC, close to the north side of Central Park. Trump Tower in NYC is located near the south end of Central Park, and is 4 miles from Columbia.

That would be something to brag about! My first concert was the Beatles. The show was short, the acoustics were lousy, and it was a cultural touchstone for my generation.

My town banned gas leaf blowers mid-May through the beginning of autumn. I find the higher pitch of the allowed electric leaf blowers even more annoying than their gas powered counterparts, albeit slightly less environmentally harmful.

Other people may drink wine with their meals, but we don't. I justify our Graeter's consumption as the substitute for good wine in our budget. Last night, I paired their French Pot Toffee Chocolate Chip with fresh strawberries.

Illinois has enacted a law that requires a % of the income generated in monetized videos (filmed in Illinois)be placed in a trust and given to the child at 18. Which is better than nothing, but still doesn't address the issues of consent/invasion of privacy/manipulation. apnews.com/article/tikt...
