Also, I was invited to give the introductory paper to the students association's Christmas movie, and I used the opportunity to read a few of my favourite passages from @thecelticist.bsky.social's wonderful 'Fierce Appetites' which reflect on the value of (Medieval) History as a subject.

For the session on hagiographical sources, I use @jtpmedieval.bsky.social's 'Early Medieval Hagiography', and his article on 'Defining paganism' is another staple in the syllabus. For the broader historical context, I now also use @laurysarti.bsky.social's 'Westeuropa zwischen Antike & Mittelalter'.

I also often fall back to @drnwillburger.bsky.social and the great collection of archaeological sources she posts on her account, such as this one: bsky.app/profile/drnw...

In yesterday's session on Wetti's Vita s. Galli, we looked at the Vocabularius s. Galli & discussed the significance of multilingualism in the context of missionary activity. I was inspired to include the Vocabularius through @calthalas.bsky.social's post on it: bsky.app/profile/calt...

We also had the privilege to look at the newly acquired 11th-c. bible from St Maximin in Trier. Many thanks to Luc Deitz & Thomas Falmagne for this wonderful opportunity!

It was my first time seeing Pallbearer & as they're probably my favourite band atm, I was slightly disappointed by their very short stage time. But they were great nonetheless & it was probably the best Graveyard gig I've seen so far, I thought they sound better than on the last tour!

Many of you have asked us how you can help, and we thank you for that. We now have a link to the petition ‘Save Celtic’, and we urge you to sign it and spread the word. www.change.org/p/red-de-opl... 2/3 (sorry it turns into a longer thread now!)

Thanks so much, Abby! It's actually not out until 28th October... I somehow had 1st October in mind as well, but very kind of you nonetheless!
