My Kickstarter for "The Psychic Danger Society" is launching tomorrow. If you want engaging mechanics, a cozy setting, and a shameless excuse to run around a small town solving murders, this one's your jam. #ttrpg #ttrpgcommunity www.kickstarter.com/projects/jam...

Do you want someone to review your weird little #indiettrpg? We want to review your weird little indie #ttrpg Drop us a DM, comment here or light a signal fire to get our attention. We'd appreciate reposts from anyone who sees this to get the message far and wide

Over the next 12 days we’ll be previewing the finalists in our 18 Card Challenge: Use 9 Cards per game. It was a doozy. Let's make a thread.

Played my first game of Finspan from @stonemaiergames.com tonight and was thrilled to see this little guy! I obviously have a big soft spot for leafy sea dragons (the inspiration for our company name) and any game that includes one gets an automatic thumbs-up from me!

Just got my copy of Dawn of the Orcs by @lymerpg.bsky.social and I’m so stoked to play through this! Characters are sages who create a group of orcs to protect their nation against invaders, but over time the orcs change in fascinating ways. A neat concept that promises an intriguing experience!

i think that all narrative designers should understand how at least one sport works. And not just the rules, but the politics and fandom behind it. Where are the rivalries drawn, how is identity formed, what have the individual players gone through to get here

for those of you shy about self promotion my display name is literally buy the mass effect board game and has been for four months, and recently a long time friend on here said oh the mass effect board games out? i hadn't realized you're not going too hard

I completely understand why there is an emphasis on talking about ttrpgs when they are doing crowdfunding. I would still love to hear about games months or even years after their release, when folks have had time to play and reflect on the completed work.

The first episode of the Button Shy Deep Dive podcast is finally here! In it Jason & I discuss Sprawlopolis with lots of insights from Jason himself, two of the designers, and two Sprawl superfans. Even if you’re not a superfan, we hope you’ll enjoy this peek behind the scenes at Button Shy Games!

Kurt is one of my favorite people and designers, and Sock Puppets is the Kurtiest game imaginable. That is to say: it’s whimsical, funny, artful, elegant, insightful, and suffused with loving reverence for all the quirks and foibles that make us human. Go check it out on Kickstarter now!

My card game Downtown Las Palmas is going through development with Button Shy Games right now! I'm super excited for how it's coming along. If you are interested in helping make the game the best it can be, there is a playtest from 1/26 - 2/9 on Discord! You can join here: discord.gg/vMSGZ6n2BU

Did you know that Solo TTRPGs are incredibly diverse? Whatever your tastes in games, you've got options. This is the golden age of solo roleplaying experiences! I've been thinking about how to break down the various categories of solo-able RPGs, and here's my attempt... 🧵

The nomination period for the Diana Jones Award Emerging Designer Program is open! Please head to our website for all the details. You can nominate yourself or any other worthy tabletop game designers in their first three years of publishing. Nominations close Feb. 14. www.dianajonesaward.org

Hey, go check out this Kickstarter for In Memory Of! Considering Tony’s razor-sharp mind for game design and the powerful, personal premise at its core, I think this is going to be an excellent game. With only 100 physical copies available, you definitely won’t want to miss it.

Hey #PortfolioDay! I’m Dan, an artist and illustrator working in fantasy, sci-fi, #TTRPGs, and more! I’m open for work right now! Send me an email or DM if you think my work would be a good fit for your project! 🖥️ danenglish.art ✉️ [email protected]

REMINDER that you can be a game designer even if you haven’t published a game yet. You can be a game designer even if you’ve only worked on 1 project. You can be a game designer even if you’re at the very start (or about to start) of your first project.

As a big fan of sad games, I am super-excited for this one. Definitely check out the pre-launch page and we can all be sad together. (By which I mean that 100 of us can be sad individually.)

5-Star Match: A Solo Pro Wrestling TTRPG from @leafydragongames.bsky.social is almost published. I've had the pleasure of drawing illustrations for this game. My Ko-fi subscribers (Minions, Mutants and Monsters) can check the Exclusive Preview: ko-fi.com/post/30-Excl...

My kid: So Dad, do you ever think of books in your head? Like, stories that you want to write down but you never have enough time? Me, a professional writer and TTRPG designer: yes this is somewhat relatable

I’m running a Make 100 campaign on KS for my sold-out game at the Indie Game Night Market at PaxU! If you missed it, here is your 2nd chance to pick it up. Please follow the campaign or share it with a friend. The campaign launches next week! www.kickstarter.com/projects/chi...

Just in time for 2025, I reorganised my itch page! Come peruse my wares, I've got... 🧔🏽‍♂️ my award-winning autobiographical #TTRPG 💞 games for lovers 🦅 games about birds 👨🏽‍🦳 a dad joke 🌳 games for nature-lovers 🏳️‍⚧️ a large helping of trans pride Comments are delighted in! breathingstories.itch.io

ExoShip is a really clever, tight 18-card game that’s well worth the cost at baseline. Get it on sale now and you’ll be even happier you did! Bonus: you’re supporting @ksylves.bsky.social and @weheart.games, two amazing and amazingly talented people!

If you’re at #PaxUnplugged2024 this weekend, swing by the IPR booth (3421) and check out their fine collection of RPGs from a host of incredibly talented people. (And I’m not just saying that because our own *Here We Used to Fly* will be available there.)

Alright #ttrpgsky, let’s do this! 1 like = 1 TTRPG in my library and/or that I want to play I’ve got a pretty small collection of physical books but my list of things to play is pretty long so hopefully it’ll all work out. 😆 Feel free to quote post if you want to play along at home!

Delicious friends! Perhaps you are a person of immaculate refinement. Perhaps you are not: perhaps you are an amicable disaster, intent on making awful decisions with verve and glee. Either person would surely want to know when the Fallen London TTRPG launches. www.kickstarter.com/projects/mag...

Spectres of Brocken is a fantastic read that immediately took first spot on my To Play list. If you’re looking for a cool new RPG, definitely check it out and take advantage of this discount!

Exciting news: my shop on my website is now open! I've moved some of my prints to my own site and I've got a limited supply available and ready to ship before the holidays (US only right now). And I'll be adding original oil and acrylic paintings as well in future! danenglish.art/shop

Okay. *deep breath* Here we go. The Hearth Magazine is now accepting pitches for #TTRPG articles. Please check out our website for our Commitments as well as Artist and Article Submission guidelines, and I look forward to hearing from folks. Please spread the word! www.thehearthmagazine.com

THIS THIS THIS. One of the hardest things I had to learn as a writer and a game designer is that even the best idea still requires countless hours of shaping, editing, and refining to be worthwhile in any way. It’s an alchemical process by which you turn the raw material of ideas into gold.

Only a few days left on my Kickstarter! I can't wait for this to get into everyone's hands. I think it's a solid game and it definitely fits different trick taking skill levels. Trick or Bid also has super cute art and will be fun every Halloween! www.kickstarter.com/projects/tri...

Just backed this! Any game with orks is a good one, in my opinion, but a game in which you create your own orks and customize them over the course of play sounds too good for me to pass up!

Every suggestion in this thread is brilliant. Whatever your #ttrpg of choice, I guarantee you could learn something from reading this list. I know I did!
