Take a look at Catholic Relief Services. The majority of their funding comes from USAID.
CRS isn't "woke." It was created by the US Conference of Catholic Bishops. A lot of Catholics inexplicably support Trump.
I feel like bringing these kinds of orgs to the right's attention might actually help.

Isn't Oklahoma the state that is handing out $60ish/child to schools who integrate Bible studies or something into their curriculum?

Remember, Trump picked Vance as VP because Musk wanted him to. Removing Trump is a start, but Vance needs to go, too. I don't know that Vance inspires the same loyalty among GOP as Trump, but he is a dangerous man.

This is very sad. I'm not into patriotic symbolism, but I generally like birds. The bald eagle is a beautiful bird.

If you own a Cybertruck, you're probably in way too deep already.

I wouldn't trust Republicans to keep their end of any deal. One call from a Trump surrogate and they will toe the line. Also, they have the votes without any D help, so what the hell was this about?

Right? Removing women and, I assume eventually, non-whites from combat roles will leave a severely understaffed military. I see a draft in a lot of good ol' boys' futures.

I will concede that the man (and his PR team) knows his base. They are definitely the ones who yearn for the jukebox at the diner, gossip over whether Billy Sue and Jackie David are going steady, and sock hops.
This piece of banality certainly would appeal to them.

US AID money helped fund an irrigation project in my village when I was a Peace Corps volunteer. This project helped bring water to fields that allowed for year-round crop cultivation that previously relied solely on the rainy season to grow their main food crop.

Or make us bring proof of vaccinations. I kept my old yellow WHO card from my Peace Corps days and try to remember to take it whenever I get a booster. That way, I do have an official record.

I thought Silk Road was also known as a huge repository of child porn and sex trafficking. Truly vile stuff.

Oh, Gonzo. I'm having a tough day today, missing my li'l baby cat. He went over the rainbow bridge 11.5 weeks ago. Seeing you makes me both incredibly happy and incredibly sad. Gonzo, thanks for being you, in all your chaotic glory.

Also, if anyone stumbles across "The Greenlanders" by Jane Smiley during this current obsession, I can attest that it's a good book. It is slow and a bit of a slog at around 600 pages, but it is good! I borrowed it from the DC public library.

Once upon a time, I had a radio app on my phone and could tune into a radio station in...Nuuk, I guess it was. Anyway, it was mostly just a person reading something continuously on air. I like to think it was farm reports.
ANYWAY. It was incredibly soothing to listen to.
