This is a *disaster*. Calling the active-duty military to put down a crisis the regime manufactures. This is way beyond a five-alarm fire. I worry we are teetering on a point of no return.

🔥🔥🔥

‘We’re not against knowledge-rich curricula. Just not *that* knowledge.’ 🙄

This isn’t a myth because it isn’t the argument anyone makes for a knowledge-rich curriculum.

This *is* a lie but it’s not what the argument for a curriculum rich in knowledge is based on. The good grades, good bit is nonsense. The knowledge bit is - or should be - an attempt to give students access to being able to think about - and with- things they would otherwise be ignorant of

It's not the worst thing about the Trump era by far, but it is infuriating to have been consistently viewed as alarmist for stating plainly what has been happening in front of our very eyes. So many people have gaslit us because they were delusional or reality made them uncomfortable.

Trump is obviously a fascist. Time to stop avoiding the term.

Before anybody says it: No, the President of the United States endorsing the arrest of a prominent elected official is not a “distraction.”

Felt it was important to chronicle the campaign against trans people that the Trump administration has been waging. You can advocate for women's sports and spaces, and high standards of evidence in youth medical care, without being gratuitously cruel. www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archiv...

I also only realised a few years ago that the name The Beatles was a pun when I read 1, 2, 3, 4 by Craig Brown.

🤯

YES! Thank you, David, for articulating better than I ever could have some of my thoughts on reading, and being disappointed to hear from a CEO, the comments of the Lift CEO.

I’ll keep on saying it and I’ll probably continue to get a few brickbats thrown at me - but in 2029 the UK’s liberal democracy and rule of law will be on the ballot.

BBC Radio 4 said of Zia Yusuf "he has reversed his resignation" before having him clarifying he is not party chair anymore. In deciding to remain as a volunteer with Reform party, he has not been offered back the role of party chair that he resigned from. So there is no reversal of the resignation

Ah no, this is really sad.

Again, one doesn’t want to assign too much blame to his ecosystem but you should see the kind of accounts he interacts with on twitter

If a Reform MP argued as regularly and consistently as Neil O’Brien does that people who aren’t “white British” don’t count as properly British and are in fact just foreign, then they would lose the whip, let alone be on the frontbench.

Sell the ceiling, Tiger!

Sorry but the recently resigned chair of the joint 6th biggest party in Parliament taking up another job within the party should not be the lead story on the BBC website. The BBC is utterly obsessed with Reform UK.

It’s probably the copa mundial, but Puma King will always be my favourite 💪🏼

Is this true?! 😵‍💫

In two minds on this. I do want people on the right to try and maintain some kind of cordon sanitaire (and it's getting harder - look at the comments on Nelson's article). But it really does grate that he never acknowledges his own role in creating the conditions for this.

The person who’s spent a decade supplying the matches warning against others committing arson. If we were a proper country this fella would be beyond the pale. But because he’s posh he gets a pass & a column in the paper of record.

"if Farage lets others reach for the dog whistle, he may find he has lost control of the tune" Don't need to be a psychologist to know this column has little to do with Farage/Reform -its Fraser's apologia for his promotion of racism & fascism as Spectator editor www.thetimes.com/comment/colu...

I’m much more likely to go to a restaurant that refuses to serve racebaiting thugs.

Not sure I buy this from Pepe Di’Iasio. 1. Sounds like he thinks it’s inevitable that PP kids will do worse. 2. If the schools are that good, PP kids will achieve well.

Wasn’t she supposed to be a new kind of Reform candidate, not the normal, regular racebaiter?

TEACH NUCLEAR SUB WELDING IN SCHOOLS

Ahead of next week's Spending Review, we echo @teachfirst.bsky.social's calls to reverse the real terms erosion of pupil premium funding and introduce auto-enrollment for pupils who are eligible for free school meals ⤵️
