YES JP on MOTD with the dig at Sunak 💪🏼👏🏼

This is a masterpiece with so many layers. 1. Complete lack of responsibility, obviously. 2. STILL somehow manages to sanewash blatant racism as "issues raised" 3. Pivots immediately to, "but what does this mean for Farage?" lobby horserace bullshit.

What's being missed in the Fraser Nelson stuff is that the rot is much deeper than just one magazine. It has set in across pretty much the whole of the right. Not so much a long march through the institutions as a devastating blitzkrieg lasting just a few years.

Today was another reminder, Reds: it ain’t no City chasing us this year. Frankie says Relax.

Until I made it one

local former magazine editor discovers that.....actions?........have consequences?

think what grates most about Fraser Nelson's "a dramatic shift? of MY Overton window?" shtick is that those of us who kept talking about the Spectator's dangerous slide to the right were treated as hysterical, not able to see the humour in shock jocks, etc etc, when we were just clearly right!

You love to see just how bad Yanited are.

Good on Sam. He was one of first people to call out Nelson’s far-right enablism. Don’t let Nelson act the innocent now.

I'm not having Fraser Nelson playing dumb on the rise of racism on the right after years spent printing Murray, Liddle, Taki and Shriver. I literally had a DM row with him years ago where I said this would happen.

Nelson correctly says that of course Sunak is English, but absolutely misses his part in shaping the rhetoric we have now which makes the "unthinkable" questions mainstream.

This wilful inability to admit his own role in promoting what he now condemns is an unbeatable example of the hotdog meme plus the leopard meme

From the headline I assumed he'd finally noticed that ethnonationalism might have its downsides as a strategy, but reading it, it's actually more "Leopards ate my face. Here's why we may soon not require faces"

1,000,000%. What an absolute disgrace Nelson is.

Steve Bannon and CPAC are too far right in promoting Nazi symbolism for Le Pen/Bardella to associate with them. The French National Rally are now too moderate for Bannon/MAGA and the Trump core (who prefer Zemmour's more overtly xenophobic party + the German AfD strategy of going harder right)

another thing every other president in history would be impeached for just happened

The work Jasmine is doing around EAL is already proving to be transformative. Come and be part of something exciting at Trinity.

Today is a good day @mrshepstone.bsky.social @bennewmark.bsky.social

Boooooo

The three pedagogy/T&L things that generally schools need to focus on are 1. Behaviour 2. Attention 3. A long term memory strategy For most schools, nothing else is as important.

I'd say "Peak Spectator" ..but I'm sure that under Michael Gove there will always be new depths to plumb.. [and yes, the headline is a fair summary of the article]

Reacherrrrrr

The absolute state of this.

The scale of the sheer idiocy at the heart of this would, in a sensible country, mark the end of a career as any sort of commentator or serious person. In Britain, not so much.

Anybody hear of any coaches going to the League Cup final from Liverpool let us know…
