The New York Times reaching the Pravda levels of reporting.

The NYT likes fascism, it is a fascist enabling organisation.

Seven Democrats voted to confirm Noem and an additional six did not vote.

As if dragging Padilla out wasn't bad enough...you can't "liberate" an American city from political leadership you don't like through force. This is a democracy shitheads.

Ok, I'll go: I'm here to fight American fascism and to oppose the wanton shredding of the US Constitution by Administration forces. President Trump is a traitor to the nation and I look forward to being arrested while protesting this regime's illegal and immoral cruelty.

The lesson from every single fascist/authoritarian takeover in history is the same. There are institutions that will resist. Law enforcement and the military, regardless of the oaths they swear, are not among them, because these are culturally authoritarian organisations.

Violence against political opposition is a sure sign of democratic collapse. We are in very dangerous waters. Everyone must resist now.

If you ever wanted to understand what an effort to exert unchecked executive power against representatives of the legislative branch looks like

Reform UK Party Chairman. Deeply serious people.

They’re just asking for Israel to bomb them, surely?

Again I tip my hat to @gabrielmilland.bsky.social for the term "lobbyfication" for when newsrooms are unable to interpret anything government related except through the lens of electoral politics

Come to the United States to see your soccer team which just played 300 consecutive days of soccer play the winner of the Oceania Champions League for a trophy we just made up! BTW if you forget your visa at the hotel we will send you to a slave labor camp

I remember standing in silence with hundreds of others in Southam, a small Warwickshire town where we used to live, as the coffin of a local lad killed in Afghanistan was slowly driven to the grave waiting for him in the churchyard, his devastated family walking behind. Fuck you to hell Pete Hegseth

Lunchtime charity shop purchase - 45p. Can’t seem to find out if it was Liverpool’s official FA Cup final single, or just a random record they released during the season…

My work here is done

I'm incredibly disappointed that the Hillsborough Law still hasn't come to the floor of the House after the Prime Minister promised it during Labour Party Conference last year. The bill that was written in 2017 is fit for purpose and must be delivered in full. Anything less is a betrayal.

Former Reform Chairman Zia Yusuf plans to run for a seat in Parliament, in a by-election if the right seat comes up, if not, at the GE, Sky reports. Only a few days ago he flounced out of the party saying it wasn’t a good use of his time. Joke people, joke party.

He’s all yours, @carlhendrick.substack.com www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

"Under VAR review"

This is a very good bit.

🥳🥳🥳

Does it matter to you that there's basically no point you asking for a letter of application for jobs now? It may always have been a bit pointless but you might as well cut that out of application process right now.

If you think England are going to get anywhere near winning the World Cup next year, watch Spain, France, Portugal & Argentina, and then get your head read.
