This feels like a good time to point out that you wouldn't be able to say that people who didn't like Hillary or Kamala put Trump in office if we didn't have a two party system that forces us to choose the best of two evils.

That's what a friend of mine likes to call them lol

I'd be really surprised if the Democrats don't throw their weight behind whatever this crap is

I'm sure folding on the CR did a lot of good, Chuck. How are your bipartisan efforts with fascists going?

I'll second that!

In a perfect world where almost all of our politicians aren't bought and paid for by AIPAC, yes, I would have liked the Dem candidates to be anti-genocide. I don't know of many of the Dem nominees who were anti-genocide, but I believe we could've found one if Joe had stepped out of the way earlier.

I'll agree with you that everything is crap now, that might be all we have in common, but I'll still work towards solutions with anyone who's interested.

What efforts has the Green Party made on a local level? Maybe I just need to research more, but I feel like I only hear of them every 4 years.

No, I'm not saying that at all. She clearly wasn't, that's the issue. The purpose of my post was to suggest that if the point of all of this protest is to go back to someone like Joe Biden, we're aiming way too low.

Sorry, do you mind explaining to me how being against genocide created genocides?

I agree with that. The whole "when they go low, we go high" when faced with the threat of fascism was just too little too late. Certainly the two party system in general is just bad at representing the desires of the electorate, but it was a bad strategy even within those confines.

Ideally someone who was anti-genocide, but even if it had to be Kamala, we got into this mess because Joe wouldn't back out despite polling indicating that Americans didn't want a 2020 redo. There absolutely should have been a primary and Joe completely screwed that for us.

And who got us into this mess because he was too stubborn to let us choose a decent president.

@schumer.senate.gov YOU did this! How dare you present this information to people who are suffering because of it like you didn't hand the GOP these Medicaid cuts on a silver platter with a fruit basket on the side. RESIGN.

Where were you when Chuck singlehandedly gave up any leverage the Democrats had over the budget so he could kiss Trump's ass? We're in this situation because of Chuck's actions.

Maybe next time you tank any leverage against the GOP you can write them a strongly worded letter to include funding for your spine replacement, Chuck.

What are you doing to bring Mahmoud Khalil and Mohsen Mahdawi back, Chuck? Don't expect a pat on the back until you loudly fight your constituents being trafficked.

I don't put any faith in the Democratic Party. When we get out of this, it will be because of the actions of civilians strengthening their own communities against this fascist nonsense, not through voting within the two-party system.

If you're really passionate about it, I'd suggest the best person to organize it in your community is you. Don't wait to be comfortable to get started.

"Haha they can't do that! That's illegal!"
We need to abandon this narrative strategy. Very soon, many things will be deemed "legal" & made legitimate by the courts.
This is why it's important to remember that institutions will not save us. The Democratic Party will not save us. It's just us.
