I just don't have the capacity to continuously watch as they methodically dismantle any good left in this government. I've enough pattern recognition skills to see their goal, and enough awareness to know there are no checks and balances left to stop them.

I know this is their plan, to exhaust us until we accept authoritarianism as our norm. Break our backs with the burden of our shattered ideals. Turn us off from the hope we once shared until we tune out. Then take away our remaining freedom and round us up when we are isolated.

There's no strategy, this is all spiteful sabotage. T's ego was bruised by not being accepted by those countries, so he will do whatever he can to punish them regardless of the outcome.
Same over here, he's trying to hurt people who don't bow down by attacking whatever matters most to them.
